Maya Angelou Passes at 86
Regardless of politics, this woman was a remarkable lady and always impressed me with how she rose above her life difficulties and forged a successful life out of hard work, education, and perseverance. She's an example many women, of any ethnicity, should aspire to emulate. Her story is quite remarkable.

Damn that was long! It's too bad she longed for equality, like MLK, and had to watch it go beyond equality, and tip the see-saw to the other side, never stopping in the middle.

"She lived a life as a teacher, activist, artist and human being. She was a warrior for equality, tolerance and peace,"

I'd like to see Weird Al Yankovic as the next poet laureate.

I know people who took her class at Wake Forest. That was a great opportunity.

There are some people , when you have the opportunity of seeing them in person, you can just feel their hypocritical phoniness.
With Maya Angelou you knew you were in the presence of someone special. She was like Dr King, she could make you understand.
