American Rivalries? Pick your program's top 3 rivals
Rivalries have become a bit wierd with all the expansion transition. Make a Top 3 for your schools biggest In-Conference Rivals.
UCF Rivals
#1 South Florida - Corridor Clash / War on I-4.
USF leads 4-1. This one is for obvious reasons. Leavitt Era at USF really put a beat down on UCF. I'll admit that, my only regret is that USF killed the series for awhile. Last season still put on a pretty great game. Hopefully Taggert gets USF back to a top team. I would love to see the victor of the Corridor Clash become the favorite for American titles. The league really needs this rivalry to do well.
#2 East Carolina
ECU leads 9-3 overall but some of those are before UCF was FBS. Being in CUSA East together, we often fought for the division title. But since their primary conference rival was Southern Miss. The rivalry really took place over the internet between two passionate fans bases. ECU Rivals has permanently banned all UCF Rivals subscribers from posting on their boards. Lots of heated discussions on this board as well, most of which were a product of being expansion candidates. So its a weird rivalry and hasn't been publicly acknowledged by the Athletic Departments (that I know of)
#3 Tulsa
Tulsa leads 5-2. This may only be a one sided rivalry from the UCF perspective. Tulsa's main rival in my eyes will always be Houston. From the UCF perspective, Tulsa has always been our spoiler. Met 3 times for CUSA titles and Tulsa took 2. Put it this way... Blake Bortles only lost 5 games as the Starting QB at UCF, 2 of those 5 were to Tulsa.
Dark Horse: I could see Cincy becoming a cool rivalry and seeing Tulsa fade.
I am curious to see everyone's list. East Carolina just lost the Southern Miss rivalry. Cincy lost the Keg of Nails. The only secure rivalry is UCF/USF. The rest are rivalries in the making or reborn.

If they're true rivalries you don't need to ask (see UCF / USF) - otherwise, post away.

Didn't we just have a post about 3 permanent games that you want? Almost the same thing?

Cincinnati does not have any in-conference rivals right now. This is not a knock on everyone, but some times these things take time to develop.

Yeah for ECU it's UCF and then no one else really. I would say there are 5 candidates that could become rivals at some point down the road. Those are USF, Navy, Temple, UCONN, and Cincy. Right now it's still kinda weird to think about because I spent an entire year rooting on everyone in this league in every sport, so thinking about who I'm going to end up "hating" the most feels strange.

It won't take long for UC to renew its basketball rivalry with Memphis. The original C-USA battles were epic.

I would count Memphis basketball myself.
Really, UC football is hurting for rivals in OR out of conference. UL I guess was #1 and we are unlikely to even play so obviously they don't value it much. Miami OH is a historic rivalry, but they've been a mess for a while and I'm a little surprised it's continued. I would like to see them at least get decent in the MAC to be a good game again. The Pitt rivalry was always a little forced based on the BE, but they were good, meaningful games. I guess we will probably end up with a similar situation to Pitt with UCF (or even ECU?) at some point if they ever let us play.

Agree - sad but true
As time goes on, I can see UC developing good rivalries with ECU and UCF (if we ever get a chance to play) mainly due to the fact that all three will be in the hunt for a championship.

FWIW, I think we were close to dumping the Miami series but then the Big East blew up (and we lost two of our trophy games). Alternatively, we were going to make them play us at Nippert either 2 for 1 or all the time.
We have no leverage in the situation as it stands now. We don't have Louisville or Pitt and who are we to tell another G5 school that we will not play them on a home and home basis. I also question how tough our OOC will be in the near future given the fact that the P5 schools are trying to squeeze us out.

American Rivalries? Pick your program's top 3 rivals
I have hated UCF ever since Emil Ekyor broke Marcus Crandell's leg on one of the nastiest late hits I've ever witnessed. For me, it's UCF and no other.

UC and UConn have a nice little rivalry on the gridiron and hardwood. It's not the Iron Bowl or anything but that's one that is certainly growing. Technically USF would be a rival due to our history although that's not exactly a game most people circle on the calendar. And I guess the third would be Memphis by process of elimination.

And it was such a late hit it didn't even draw a flag.

Many flagrant fouls never draw flags. Not every ref's eyes are in the right place at the right time. Doesn't mean the offender is not guilty.

For UCF I'd say:
1. USF
That's it folks. I'm basing it on campus vibe and butts in seats. To no fault of the opponent, our fanbase was unable to get behind Tulsa and to a slightly lesser extent, ECU.
Geographically, ECU made and makes sense but I think that so many non-Saturday games made it tough to establish solid travelling fan bases.
Tulsa being in the CUSA west and so far away more than outweighed the fact that we met in 3 championship games.
