OT: Finally married
I've been married to Mrs. DawgNBama for a month now. Our wedding was definitely different in that it was a combo t-shirt & blue jeans/uniform wedding. My wife wore a red t-shirt that said "Bride" on the front and her name and our wedding date on the back. I wore a black t-shirt that said "Groom" on the front and my name and our wedding date on the back. Our wedding was at Golden Corral; we had t-shirts for everyone, but I grabbed the wrong shirt for my best man, and didn't get his shirt to him in time. 04-jawdrop 03-weeping 03-weeping Everything else went well though, despite the fact that we had a good steady downpour of rain. I definitely enjoy married life, and Mrs. DawgNBama might have a DawgNBama Jr. on the way!! (Yes, this early. We abstained from sex until we were married which is the amazing part about my wife's possible pregnancy.)

Congratulations! The smokin' hot Mrs. Smaug and I will hit #22 in September.

The only marital advice I give: Just because you're right doesn't mean you win.

If momma ain't happy, nobodies happy. Truer words were never spoken. Learn the words - "compromise", "sorry" and "your beautiful" - and you'll have long lasting marriages. Congrats and good luck!

Congrats! Years ago I once heard the actor, Ossie Davis, say the reason his marriage lasted so long, is that he always got in the last words...and they were "yes dear."
That has served me well over the past 12 years.

I was envisioning the black T-Shirt with tuxedo graphics on the front! I'm going to get one of those!

Congratulations on all your good news/events! St. Patty's Day 2015 will be #8 for me & Mrs.ENC! Enjoy each other! Be kind to each other! Keep the laughter plentiful! I raise a glass to you & your wife! CHEERS!

Other advice.....

Make sure and do stuff WITH her that "she" likes every now and again, even if you cannot stand doing it.... looking at antiques, nature walks, going to a play, her type of music, etc.

It will pay off bigtime when you want to go on that football road trip with the "boyz".

For me, coming up on 14 years July 8th. And DON'T forget the anniversary-- I learned that one the hard way 03-banghead

My wife of 10+ years is no sports fan. In fact, I have a pic of us together at a Charlotte/Cincy game back in CUSA1.0, Halton was packed, the game was on TV, Cincy was ranked #1 or #3 I think, Charlotte was about to win, and she was asleep. lol

As the philosopher Jeff Foxworthy said: If you have ever been antique shopping during a big sporting event, Your either Gay or married.

RE: OT: Finally married
When my wife of 24 years told me she didn't want to go to the mountains because of the nfl playoffs, that's the time I knew I picked well. She is a fanatical sports fan sometimes more than me.

A bit of advice: Please treat your wife the way that you treat your co-workers/friends. You're not curt with your friends, you're not short patient with them, your not sarcastic with them. Well, you get my drift. If a one word answer is enough, then use it. No need to be mean about a simple answer. Sometimes we both forget but we remind each other. For instance, if she asks you if you've been watering her plants in the front yard, don't do like I did the other day. I said, "are they dead?" She said, "no". "Well, I guess that means I have". I know that it takes a LOT of patience sometimes but do try to be. All I needed to say was, "yes, babe". She's happy, you're happy.
