No problem Lambert58. This upcoming year is intriguing to me for a lot of reasons. (good returning depth with 3 possible freshmen starters) Addition to the recruiting class from Bedford HS as well.
"We think Anthony has the ability to be a starter right away," Andrassy said. "He wrestles all positions very, very well. He's not the kind of guy that blows people out, but he's a smart wrestler that controls the match. He's in great shape. He knows exactly where he is on the mat at all times."
Breese won Pennsylvania state titles in each of the past two seasons at Lakeview and completed a perfect 36-0 senior year. His state tournament conquest included a pin in the first 10 seconds of his quarterfinal bout. Breese amassed 127 career victories. He also played on the offensive and defensive lines for the Lakeview football team, who advanced to the state quarterfinals in 2013.
"We feel like Sam was a steal for us," Andrassy said. "Big athletic guys like him are hard to come by. Sam's about 270. And if he turns out to be our best guy, we'll go with him."
A pair of Massillon Perry Panthers will become Golden Flashes with the additions of Casey Sparkman and Isaac Bast. Sparkman won a 152-pound Division I state title this past season, completing 51-5 year. As a junior, Sparkman finished fourth at 138 pounds.
"Casey's a guy we think can come in and push Mike DePalma," Andrassy said. "He's a big time recruit for us and we're expecting big things from him. We've heard nothing but great things on how he trains and how he competes."
A late addition to the Flashes' recruiting class was Jairod James (Bedford, Ohio), who finished fourth at the Division I state tournament this past season at 152 pounds. As a junior James finished seventh at the state tournament at 145 pounds. He finished second at the 2014 National High School Coaches Association National High School Wrestling Championships.
