BTW, thanks to his very efficient and quick final two innings, McCanna threw just 43 pitches in his 4.0 innings of work. I don't see why he couldn't be ready to go again on Friday.

Just want to take my foot out of mouth for a moment and congratulate the owls on a huge and gutsy win. Hell of a performance by a tired mccanna those last 3 innings. Let's keep it up next weekend at Reckling!

An Michael Aquino takes the MVP over Ewing, Fox and McCanna.

Rice leapfrogs UH and Vandy to #7 RPI.

Good job owls. UTSA must hate ninth innings against us. Three big 9ths in a row against them.

And the Owls are still the only team in his top 20 with no green. Hmmm.

And we're still the only team in the Top 20 without at least one positive "green" marking. Quite the accomplishment.

Congratulations to the Owls from the beach in South Orange County. The machine rolls on.

At the risk of jinxing things, I would really like to see the new stadium in Omaha this year.

I have to think we are at least 50/50 for a national seed, given the resume of regular season conference champs, tournament conference champs, and a #7 RPI. OK State jumping above us with their low RPI would be unjustified, as would TCU.

I give us less than a 10% chance, as our overall resume vs. Top 25/50 pales badly next to the Top 15 teams.

We are one win from green in three categories: Div I record, road record and last 10.

Nor ULaLa or Indiana ... but he does have UH as the autobid winner.

The new stadium is most excellent. We went openining year (2011).

See everybody Friday at the pre-game taligate. I've got a good feeling we won't have to fly to Eugene or similar environs this year.

Have to agree with Walt here. We're probably a couple of midweek wins away from a seed.

But, one point to remember - we win a regional, there's a 30-40% chance the adjacent regional host loses at home.
