there are really no true rivalries in this conference so no need to try and force this

Agree, but there are still some games that obviously ought to be played every year, as long as both teams are in the same conference.

UCF/South Florida
East Carolina/UCF
Houston/SMU
UConn/Temple

a few others in that category.

Well people are saying SMU - Houston and we will never be rivals. Fan bases are apathetic to each other. Our rival made it to the big time and considers us an after thought

UCF vs USF draws over 50k in Tampa and sells out in Orlando at 45k. 90 miles apart

ECU:

UCF- there's an existing history. We both hate to lose to the other and both of us think that we're better and "have more upside" than the other. The internet banter makes it even better.

Navy- they've beat the hell out of us recently and we dread playing them. We owe them a few whoopings.

Houston- see UCF; however, we can accept losing to them better than we can the Knights.

everyone dreads playing Navy...their Oline cut blocking usually means you end up with some injuries to your defense

they could be 10 minutes from each other and I can assure you UCONN fans don't give two crudes about playing Temple in football....and I would guess Temple has the same view

Agreed.

I never said the game is a "rivalry" or that the fans give a damn about it. I said as long as both teams are in the league they ought to play every year, because of the proximity. I stand by that. But if the league decides that Temple/Memphis and UConn/Tulsa makes more sense, that's fine with me. Whatever.

I’m not sure I agree with this. It may not be a rivalry but Temple has some history with UConn in football. Since the 2007 season the 2 teams played 5 times with UConn winning 3 of the 5, however it started back in 2007 with the blown call at UConn with 45 seconds left to give UConn the win (YouTube link below showing the play) and Temple winning 2 of the last 3 including an OT win at UConn in 2012.

Like I said, it’s not necessarily a rivalry, but UConn is the program Temple has the most recent history against in the AAC.

I would like Cincinnati, USF, and Temple as our 3 permanent rivals. We have the most football history with those 3 schools.

UCF- Because we always battled for the top of CUSA East and have some history. . . on the football field and on the message boards.
NAVY - because of proximity.
Temple -Same with Navy, drivable for fans. I live in Philly. Lots of ECU fans in the Philly,Jersey,NOVA, areas.

USF/Cincy are two teams I be happy to play a lot more
