RE: Priests and the Bible approve of abortions
and the political football continues.................

Your beliefs were harnessed as a get out the vote effort. You are soon going to learn this. In the next ten years you will be a pariah. They were happy to have you as long as the political calculus worked in their favor. Spin the difficult decision anyway you wish. I'm going to look up how many people actually think abortion is murder. I would bet it's below 25%. You are not going to win elections calling abortion murder.

It's still a free country. I support flag burnings and the right for you to call abortion murder. The Christian Taliban should have their day in court too. I'm thinking your days as a harvested political class are numbered however. The writing is on the wall.

The new national survey by the Pew Research Center, conducted July 17-21 among 1,480 adults, finds that just over half of all Americans (54%) say that abortion should be legal in all or most cases.

Do you really care that 54% of 1,480 people support abortion? That poll is senseless. Of the people I talk to on a daily basis, none support gay marriage (different subject, I know, but reiterates my polling point), so does that mean that 0% support gay marriage?

Now think about the abortion is murder crowd anywhere else but the south........

You will soon see how respected your viewpoints are within the GOP.

You are an anchor. You are a destroyer to their political ambitions.

The South holds a lot of land and a lot of electoral votes. And the demographics are growing while they are shrinking in the northeast and in California.

I'd just rather kill a murderer than an innocent child that has no choice in the matter. Not it's fault, man.

So because a percentage of a certain part of a population goes one way, means that the rest of the population in all other areas will go that way too?

I don't form my opinions or have beliefs based on what my neighbor might think.

Some things are real simple and it's a shame you can point to 54% not getting that.

So a couple finds out at 24 weeks the child they had hoped for will be born with a serious chromosomal disorder that will lead to a painful and short life. They choose to end the pregnancy. So what do you right-wingers think should happen to this couple? Note that I did not ask what would happen under current law or anything along those lines. I am asking what you think should happen.

The same thing should happen to them that would follow if they smothered a newborn with a pillow because they found out about a deformity after birth...

A birth defect or chromosomal disorder does *NOT* make you less human or less valuable than me...

Unless the Baby is dead in the womb or unless carrying the pregnancy to term would kill the mother there is not a lot of discussion to be had..

RE: Priests and the Bible approve of abortions
My contention and argument would begin with "abortions is not murder". That would be the start. I gauran damn tee you about 20% of people think that way and that INCLUDES the SOUTH. 40% of people in the SOUTH!!!! still think abortion should be legal in almost every case.

This little political run the GOP has enjoyed by mining these voters will end here very very soon. I hope we are all around in 10 years to look back on this very thread. D's are going to run on a woman's right of choice while any NATIONAL GOP will run from you. You will be a leper. Turd in a punch bowl.

This is so rare as to be a non starter Even if one were to say that situation is up to the parents it doesn't touch the issue of the other 90% of abortions. You are using the exception to justify the rest

yes as long as the sample was random. Anything over 700 is golden. Well with 3% either way.
