I doubt that's true.
I dunno. Memphians love the Tigers (at least, the basketball Tigers), but there's not much to get them on campus unless they are attending classes. I'd be pleased to be wrong.

I'm a UofM fan who has never attended classes at UofM.The only foot I set on campus was when I worked as a shift mgr at Pizza Hut (at the MidSouth Coliseum making 10,000 personall pan pizzas for RiverKing Hockey games and Monday night wrasslin'.) to see my boss at his UofM office.

That's really amazing. Hell, I've been there five times already this year.

I've been a few times myself. Why is it so amazing? It's pretty well acknowledged that the Tigers are the city's team. Not everyone is reading up on Roman history.

Reading up on Roman history is the ONLY excuse for not setting foot on campus when you are in Memphis.

Well, enlighten me. What is bringing the average Joe (non-alum) Tigers fan (we have a lot of them) to campus? What is bringing the average alum back to campus? Not what should be, but what is actually doing it?

I think a much, much, much higher percentage of our fans have attended classes at UM versus UTK's fanbase.

Aside from the chance to walk in my footsteps? Our on-campus stadium.
No, wait.
Actually, I've been there for multiple seminars, both in the Fogelman Building and the UC, but maybe that's just coincidence.

Because you think I'm wrong thinking we have a lot of fans that have never been to the campus? Okay. It's just a hunch. Go Tigers.

Think about all of the Spelling Bees that are held on campus each and every year for Memphis & Shelby County.
Suzuki individual & group lessons in violin, cello, viola, piano, etc. for many many years on end.
When I was in HS they used to hold the MLK Christmas BB tournament at the Field House & tons of HS kids attended.

Not everyone is so fortunate. Memphians, from all walks of life, love the Tigers. I think it adds up. That's all I'm saying. Maybe some think those people don't exist.

Agree. It adds up---All the Memphians from all walks of life love the Tigers.
All you gotta do be in town on game day--da buzz is in the air--driving down to the Forum...Tiger gear visible...people smiling at you. If they win, the city celebrates. If they lose, the city mourns.
