My Dad was a Plant Manager for a Steel Company with locations in both cities. BTW my cousin was an administrator at Georgia Tech during the 70's and 80's.

Born and raised in Louisville. Always cheered for them growing up -- had a neighbor who played on the BB team. Graduated from there and later taught there for a while as a contractor. Also, can't stand UK because they are so totally opposite. Love that the school pretty much stands on it's own without much state help even though they went from private to state when I was there. The community, fans and alumni support everything including most of our athletic growth of facilities. We also just reached our goal of $1 Billion before projected due to our fans and alumni and community support.

1) Born and raised in Louisville
2) BB& FB season ticket holder for several years
3) Several family members graduated from UofL
4) It's the only show in town

Non alums are alot more than sorta necessary for a schools bottomline, unless you believe that most of the 30,000 fans at an SU basketball games are alums. When you look at a Tennessee or Michgan fb game with over 100,000 in attendance, its likely that only a small percentage of those in attendance are alums.

Pitt gave me both my B.A. and my wife. I met her in the student Union and married her at Heinz Chapel on campus . The Mrs. has a B.S. and an MBA from Pitt.
