You have a point, but the way many of the UP people see it, if SMU didn't exist, businesses would still be there collecting money from the wealthy locals.

There are no state or city income taxes in the state of Texas.

They can do that only if we let them. If we let them stop us from playing night games prior to October 20, Rick Dickson should be checked into a mental institution.
Well we did sign some aort of agreement after the city council nonsense, limited the amount of times we can host events, seating height etc., i would like to know if night games r part of that and i would guess i is based solely on rd/cj comments pushing for day games. I know bc signed an agreement with their local nimbys.
You can read the Stadium Agreement here:
http://yulmanstadium.com/news/stadium-agreement/
Although the NIMBYs wanted to be a part of the agreement, Tulane refused. The agreement is between Tulane and the City of New Orleans. Regarding, hours of operation, the agreement states that weekday games must be over by 10:30 pm and weekend games by midnight; however, there are exceptions for weather delays, overtime, broadcast/conference scheduling requirements, etc. The agreement is pretty much a non-factor for game times.
Good news, always surprised when they get things right. No idea why they didn't push for 2-4 concerts per year as NOLA does not have a suitable outdoor concert stadium (Mardi Gras World is the only option tmk).
