If the revenues from the BCS/playoff going forward were shared equally among all 10 conferences whose to say that a school like North Texas or Marshall wouldn't be just as powerful on the field as anyone else? The gaps certainly includes history and institutionalization, but it's largely one of resources. And that's exactly what they are trying to prevent. That is why its collusion and anti-trust in the most agregious of fashions but again they have the clout because there is no risk of political or legal repercussions.

Just look at our leaders in Tennessee. Most bow down to the orange T in Knoxville and I say that as a graduate of that university. It's a shame the G5 schools are blockaded from competing in an equitable way and it will always be that way because of egos, power grabs and TV networks who are afraid that having a Boise St in their playoff/bowl game won't draw as good a ratings as a P5 school refusing to acknowledge that if we were allowed equal status and allowed to grow our program with those resources we may well be able to deliver those types of tickets sales and ratings one day.

And, who is to say, that those progressing schools would not make them even MORE money.

Think of all of the money some of the massive student-body schools could bring in, if they were given a chance-- UCF, FIU, etc.

I'm talking about in the future.

One has nothing to do with the other. Just sayin'.......

Bologna. He says money is ruining amateur athletics after he just accepted $12.5 million in corporate sponsorship.

Corporate sponsorship came as a result of their own success in spite of opression and anti-trust created by power conferences. This is a separate issue. Boise isn't receiving a handout here simply as a result of the conference patch they wear on their jersey like many in the P5 currently do.

I somehow doubt, Vanderbilit for example, could sell rights to their stadium for that much and certainly couldn't do it if they were not in a power conference. Yet, Vandy and other schools like them bring in millions more than Boise all because of that patch on their jersey.

Critizing the AD for making the best out of his situation hardly is an adequate analogy. In fact, it's a bad one, and he has the right to say so.

That's right. That $12.5 million is survival money, not gravy.

Exactly. Why aren't more G5 presidents getting out the word that we've had enough? He's a man.

RE: Boise State Tells the P5 to stuff there new NCAA takeover
Boise is about as good as it gets with name recognition. Who is more known than them in the G5? UCF? Not until this season. UNLV? Memphis? I guess UConn is, but only because of hoops, and they could be going B1G soon anyway. They're pretty much the standard for a non P5 school. I wish the presidents of all of the G5 schools would be as vocal and show solidarity. I do wish this guy and mentioned CUSA, MAC and SB though. He gave the impression that the ACK and MWC were the only ones left out. He pretty much told the truth though, so I give him much respect.

Boise State never had a chance to be in a P6 conference. Make no mistake about that.

What needs to happen if these sham reforms go through is to cause the P5 schools to lose not-for-profit status at least where athletics are concerned. A 35% corporate tax haircut off the top of gross revenues paid directly to the IRS would have the P5 kicking and screaming, and it would be richly deserved.
P6 conference.....nope. No one has a chance of being in a P6 conference when it doesn't exist.
Did you sleep through 2013?...there most certainly was a P6 last season. But Boise State would have had only one year of P6 life even if it had stayed AAC.

At least use an appropriate name (Idaho Trucking Academy) if you want to diss Boise State.

He didn't care anything about the MWC then; he only cares now, because he is being harmed.

Perfectly stated. His bid and his proposed conference bid failed failed or he foresaw that it would fail; and he's now on the other side of the demarkation line.
