Is it just me, or is the only first pitch that Cook ever takes is the one that is going to hit him - otherwise he seems to always be swinging at it.

Mike, Don't know about everyone else, but I appreciate these updated pitch counts. Very important. If he can keep this pace, McCanna could go eight, maybe nine.

You're very welcome, Ranger. It's easy to do with this pitch-listing GameTracker.

After an error and hard-hit single through the Panthers' first baseman puts Owls at the corner with no outs, Mourelle is replaced. He threw 80 pitches in 4+ innings.

RHP Mitchell Davis in to pitch to Aquino.

Aquino RBI single -- the Owl's third hit with a runner in scoring position today.

3-0 Owls. No outs, two Owls on base.

Ewing up. Hallmark comes out for a chat with Skyler.

(Ewing then shows bunt, but pulls it back for a ball.)

Deep fly off the centerfield wall. RBI Double! (Rice's fourth hit with a runner in scoring position today.)

4-0, Rice! Still no outs.

Hard line drive ... caught by diving 2B! Runners get back safely.

We now have a chance to blow the game wide open, and to use McCarthy or Orewiler if McCanna tires. Saving Zech and Ditman for later.

A two strike hit for Aquino. Good to see him with some swagger back

Finally got the video to work after switching to Safari, updating Flash Player and rebooting. The video still doesn't work on Chrome (even though it has all season). And it didn't work in Safari until I did those other two things.

We had TWO hits with runners in scoring position the inning prior. The hard hit single that moved a runner from 2nd to 3rd (too hard hit to score per your play by play) and then a single that plated a run. The SF doesn't count as an at bat, so that didn't hurt our average with RISP, but gives us 2 RBI in that situation this game.

It's called Walt's Revenge. They're trying to increase Walt's angst by maximizing hits w/RISP whilst minimizing the scoring due to those hits, thereby making Walt statistically wrong but subjectively right. You're welcome, Walt. 04-cheers

On the sac fly, was it a normal catch, or did the CF have to dive/avoid an infielder to make a throw unadviseable?

Kevin gives up an "excuse me", two-out, bloop single, then a hard line single, putting runners at the corners, but then induces a ground out to escape unscathed.

Reeves reaches on E-6. Leadoff gifted runner at 1B.
McDowell sharp single off 1B. Runners on the corners, no outs. Need to put the ball in play here even if doubleplay.
New FIU pitcher is their best reliever of many good ones: Mitchell Davis (25 app, 1-0, 26.1 IP, 0.63 ERA, .188 BAA, 13 BBs, 33 Ks)...
Aquino RBI single on 1-2 count! 02-13-banana Michael 3-3, 2 RBIs so far on the day. Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs.
Ewing RBI double on high fly off wall. 02-13-banana Runners on 2B and 3B, no outs. Aquino had to hold up to see if caught.
Teykl line shot caught by diving 2B. Ouch. Tough break there. Come on, Ford-- this time put the ball in play.
Stainback sac fly on short fly ball! 02-13-banana Strangely, no throw home. Runner on 2B, two outs.
Byrd RBI single up the middle! 02-13-banana Runner on 1B, two outs.
Byrd steals 2B.
Cook infield pop.
Well done, Owls-- keep the pedal to the metal!

Good guys take a 6-0 lead into the top of the sixth inning.

Jammed, weak fly to 3rd ends the Owls' inning.

6-0, heading to T6.

WTG, Rice. Keep the pressure on!

If my count is right, we are now 5 for 14 today with runners in scoring position plus a couple of sac flies.

Maybe that's the problem...

batting .350 with RISP (which sounds respectable) still means you fail 65% of the time
