Here is an aerial shot from Herd Insider. The size of the IAF can't be seen in pictures the thing is ginormous.

Some of you may be wondering why in the photo above the football stadium doesn't have any green turf......that's because its in the process of being replaced.

Early 2000s IPF Rendering

I remember when Dr. Kopp became the president in 2005. One of the 1st things he done was to scrap this IPF. I remember everyone and their grandmother tearing Dr. Kopp down and saying he wasn't athletic friendly.

When Dr. Kopp arrived at Marshall, the university was in shambles from the previous admin. The last president funneled money out of athletics for 5 years straight to build the biotech center. Its a beautiful building but was built the wrong way. That president was fired immediately when it was uncovered.

My question to Marshall fans, you still want the old IPF.

Nice building Herdies. Now you can stop having your pro days in the basement hallways of the Cam Henderson Center. Maybe you can replace the wood paneling in your media room next.

Doesn't look tall enough to punt in, so no. Is it an actual building or a temporary setup that is inflated?

Is it just me or do I sense just a little bit of jealousy in that post?....

BTW....pro days have always been held at the stadium. I've been to several of them myself.

I wouldn't say jealous, it is a nice building and I wish WVU would build another one but we just don't have anywhere to put it.

I'm pretty sure I recall pictures of one of your players doing his 40 yard dash down the hallway of one of your buildings. Maybe the weather wasn't agreeing with you guys that day?

That is going to be a very nice IPF. I totally admit to being jealous.

Its possible but every pro day I can recall has been at the stadium. You might be thinking about some of the track kids. On occasion they have ran in there with bad weather outside. Obviously they will be in the new facility now.

This was going to be a building. Probably like the corrugated metal structure you see that is made up of out building.

I remember when Marshall's IAF was announced. All the WHO boards went into massive meltdown. It was actually funny by all of them. And they actually thought the state was paying for it. The state pays for diddly at or for Marshall.

Enjoy your lil 70 yard building that you can't kick in. You should really thank Gaston Caperton everyday for that monstrosity you call an IPF.

It's a full size field with a six lane track around it. And you can punt in it. It will have the same turf as the football field. Paid for by private donations via the Vision Campaign.

Maybe you can go **** yourself with your Rich Rodriguez bobblehead doll until you have an Eergasm on your couch cushions. At least then you'll have reason to burn it.

Well, we won't be whining about not having as good an IPF as you guys, and the state taxpayers aren't buying ours.

As soon as the WVU guys saw what we were building they immediately began clamoring to have their NEW facility upgraded to be as good or better than ours. At taxpayer expense naturally. Their move to the Big 12 broke the bank for a while, so we'll be footing the bill for a while. Gotta keep Huggy and Holgy in their cups somehow.

Sam Hood Field (Soccer Stadium) was there. Since the IAF was going to take up the soccer stadium it had to be built before the IAF. Veterans Memorial Soccer Stadium opened up last Aug. It is only one of two DI stadiums that has a FIFA designation.
