If you build a $60 million high school football stadium, you also don't care about academics or student success anywhere but on the football field.

Allen is actually pretty darn good high school, they have a median 24 ACT score. They just have ALOT of money and love their high school football

Money is the magic ingredient in academic AND athletic excellence in schools. It is not a coincidence that 3 of the 4 Teacher of the Year finalists were from among the wealthiest districts in Alabama - including the winner from Cherokee Bend ES in Mountain Brook. Nearly every one of the top 5A and 6A athletic teams in major and minor sports were from these same kinds of schools.

Look at this diagram. Note that the red lines are cracks wider than two inches. I say again, more than two inch wide cracks, in a brand new stadium.

Is that problem similar to what they have found at Carver High School in North B'ham?

And that is different from Alabama? How?

The crack at Carver is a completely different kind of crack.

Cute comeback, but I was referring to actual cracks in the walls of the nearly new school building. I have not heard that they were repaired (as in "fixed") or just covered over.

Carver is a great example of a particular agency's incompetence.

Hoover built the new Hoover High the same time Birmingham City build the new Carver.

One got built well, and on time. One blew out its budget, was late, and falling apart before it was finished.

Guess which one was which.

Would it help to know which was the best (most completely) funded for what was built?

It's already in worse shape than Legion Field. That was quick.
