Welcome Back Hornets!!!!

As for the Pelicans name, it has a significant place in New Orleans landscape. First, the Brown Pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. Plus, over 100 years ago, the city's baseball team took the name the New Orleans Pelicans and proceeded to play in various stadiums and leagues between 1901 and 1977.

New Orleans to the Jazz
Utah to the Timberwolves
Minnesota to the Lakers
Los Angeles to ????

I wouldn't be surprised if they chose a really arrogant name like "Legends".

What if they took a European naming convention? LA United?

I like "Pelicans", too. It's pretty obvious it came straight from Tom Benson... a professional marketeer would have come up with something more contemporary-sounding.

The name Hornets has meaning to the city of Charlotte. Just like Jazz with New Orleans, and Lakers with Minneapolis.

During the Revolutionary War, British General Cornwallis remarked about the resistance met in North Carolina "There's a rebel behind every bush, it's a veritable nest of hornets."

This.

Every year, Charlotte and Davidson play for the Hornets Nest trophy.

It looks like a turd, but the battle for the bronze turd makes the games a little more interesting.

$17 million in cap space and the 9th, 24th, and 45th picks in the draft, we should be able to solid pieces that we were missing this season.

Yes!

I have a sudden urge to play NBA Jam T.E.

Both Mourning and Johnson had like 7s on 3PT ability. Interchangeable inside-outside game.
