Exclamation Cougars ink Levine to contract extension
WOW! Someone on Cullen is really impressed with a 8-5 season...

University of Houston football coach Tony Levine has signed a two-year contract extension that includes a pay raise, the school said Monday night.

Levine's new contract will run through the 2018 season, and includes a $125,000 pay raise to $925,000 each season.

Since replacing Kevin Sumlin at the end of the 2011 regular season, Levine is 14-12 overall and 1-1 in bowl games.

Premature. But if we take of him now, he may be inclined to stay IF he comes a hot commodity. That is a big IF though.

No he won't. He will leave just like every other coach in the country does when faced with a big p5 offer.

Tell me how I'm wrong then. Even Chris Petersen went to UW and they aren't even an elite football school. UH fans said the same things about Briles and Sumlin (and then called them both mediocre right after they left).

He was one year away from being fired (and Tech fans were in open revolt about that).

I'm surprised the same thing didn't happen with June Jones and SMU/Hawaii. It's basically the exact same situation (except Jones is slightly competent).

The same guy who had a true freshman QB beat a top 15 ASU program. Plus we got the #1 dual threat QB in the country this year over UT, OU, and A&M.

At least we can say we've beaten SMU 15x in a row. Not too many streaks in college football are that long.
