I'm surprised Florida and Notre Dame aren't on there. I don't expect either of them to come close to the playoff, but they're always on these kinds of lists.

Why on earth would anyone pay attention to this kind of list? It's purely someone's worthless opinion.

This is playing out just like the SEC / PAC wanted it to. 5 out of 8 are PAC / SEC schools. The other P5 conference get 1 pick. More and more it will become the P2, not the P5 or P6. I understans this is just preseason mumbo jumbo, but you can see where this is going.

The PAC and SEC have been angle shooting to get as many teams in the playoffs as possible. It is starting to come to fruition.

hitting every major media market except the northeast (which doesnt give a crap out college football) except notre dame and they are gonna be convered regardless, skewed towards the football crazed south.

its all just made for tv. has nothing based in merit at this point other than just a few schools in the list. already working the commitee.

Sadly, you're more than likely looking at the same pool of teams the selection committee will draw from each year. The way the system is set up everyone else is shut out.

It won't be long before national interest wanes and the playoff is expanded to 12 teams - 5 P5 conference champs, 5 G5 conference champs and 2 at-large bids.

Well, they have narrowed it down to 8

There are only ~20 teams that are ever allowed to win a NC.
