KJ
Who would you compare his game too? He seems like a kid that will just get better and better....will quietly go about his job and just produce pts and rebounds...

A more skilled Rodney Douglas or maybe a taller Elliott Williams

Rodney Douglas was my first thought too for some reason...I think he quietly puts up much better numbers though..

Assuming Nick King will be starting at the 3 by the time this kid comes around, where are his minutes going to come from?

Spank.. when was the last time you saw the Tigers utilize a conventional lineup?

RE: KJ
Assuming we get Skal and Nichols is still around, I doubt we go small, so King or Lawson is coming off the bench.

Would Daddy Lawson be okay with that?

RE: KJ
King would be a JR by then, so if KJ is starting he's either a prodigy or Nick King didn't develop. I've got faith that King is the most talented player on our roster right now, so I'd expect him to be starting in 2015. Daddy Lawson is just an assistant, so it's not really crucial that he be ok with it.

I agree. I just wonder if JP could get away with hiding KJ on the bench like he did Kuran this year with Keelon breathing down his neck.

Team makeup could be a bit different in 2015 than it was in Kuran's first season. If we have several solid contributors on the wing next season (King, Iverson, Burrell) and KJ is coming along slowly, I'd hope Josh puts KJ on the bench.

IMO someone needed to be breathing down Josh's neck about Iverson and KIng THIS year.

Iverson just wasn't ready. He proved it every single time he did get on the court. He was a clown show. I hope and pray he will be ready this fall, because we are going to need him.

He is not a guard or wing player. He is too big, slow and can't shoot. If that's the best we have for a wing we will be in trouble. With his size I'm hoping he can help us at the 4 next season.

I'm afraid Kuran might be a man without a position. I'm not sure he can put on enough weight on his frame to effectively defend at the 4. Nor does he seem to have the skillset to play the wing or guards positions.

But then, DJ had the same problem, without Kuran's height to work with, and worked out okay.

He's new to BB, relative to the other kids who have been playing all their young lives. Y'all might want to give Kuran and the coaches some time together. Kuran wants to be a player.

Kuran is a college 4, like the end-of-career version of Spoon when he got slow. Not a problem. You dont have to be prototypical weight to find a position in college. Dozier, Earl Barron, Kelly Wise, Nichols are/were all skinny, and all big enough to guard a 4, even most college 5's. In order to guard, you just have to want to learn and want to put forth the effort. Kuran should be fine. If we play a team with a low post behemoth, obviously Kuran shouldn't be guarding that guy. But most D1 teams aren't playing 2 back to the basket guys. Heck, just watch the NBA finals. You got Bosh, Lewis, Diaw, and Bonner running around at the 4. There's not a lot of Z-Bo's playing the 4 anymore in basketball.

Correct. Iverson was an enigma every time he stepped on the court. I remember being at Buffalo Wild Wings last year during a game, and Kuran was doing his thing and I heard someone make the comment, "Is that a Make-A-Wish kid?" Now, very inconsiderate comment to make, but I got his point.
