Just one question for Warhawk fans. Why do you care what we call ourselves athletically. When we played your softball team at UL they wore Louisiana across their front no one cared so why do you care so much what we call ourselves.

We do know what is legal and what is not legal. What you and others don't seem to understand is to whom the mandates apply. If ESPN wants to use UL in reference to us, they can. If the LSU women's basketball team wants to list UL on their schedule when the Cajuns play against them, they can. What you don't "get" is that there is a separation between the academic and the athletic. Any entity, whether it's an individual or a corporation, can refer to any Cajun team as UL. No one can, or will, refer to the school (the academic side), as UL. That is the law. That is reality.

Exactly. If not for the whiners this thread would have been the OP, my reply and the OP's answer thanking me.

Someone asked a question for Cajun fans. Looks like we have a lot more Cajun fans here than I thought because it sure does look like some non-Cajun fans have inserted themselves into this discussion.

I did notice it used on jerseys and stuff but it looks fairly limited. I know you can't just tell ESPN what to put on the screen (we've tried with no success) but allies like your conference website, and even your own in some cases.

This is what you fail to understand. We are continuing to win converts even if it is not at the pace of our liking, it's still a battle that we have the fortitude to play out for as long as it takes. We aren't stopping.

The next generation of Cajun fans are growing up knowing only UL and there's nothing you can do to stop them.
