In the first game today, Buffalo has 1 run on 1 hit into the 7th, while Miami is stranding runners all over the place. They have 6 hits and no runs.

1-0 UB batting in the top of the 7th.

UB was no hit until the 6th. They scored their run on no hits in the first.

Buffalo advances to tomorrow, Miami eliminated.

#8 WMU batting in the bottom of the 8th, leading 4-1 and 3 outs away from sending #1 Ball St. ignominiously home.

And the heart of the Cards lineup goes down 1-2-3 and WMU advances to face Kent St. tomorrow in the semi-finals.

Guess Ball State was just a paper tiger.

Saturday:
Akron and Buffalo at 9:30 a.m.

Kent St. and WMU at 1:00.

If UB and/or WMU win, they will play the same team again on Saturday.

Buffalo now batting in the top of the 11th. Score tied 4-4. Game has been back and forth.

When it was more like 4 hours drive from either Kent's or Akron's opponents in the semi-finals.

Would you consider a game in Sandusky a home game for BG and Toledo? Or one in Grand Rapids for WMU and CMU?

Avon may be an hour away from Akron and Kent, but there's no direct way to get to it. The drive is L-shaped and way out-of-the-way unless you're coming directly from Cleveland. It's multiple counties away from either university.

I understand that an Akron supporter would be quite happy for the game to be at their alternate home ground, but its still about an hour's drive from either school, and much closer to either school than to any other school at the tournament.

Really not much of a factor in a baseball tourney. Crowds are not big enough and all the teams have been there since Tuesday night. The field is unfamiliar to all as well.

The Flashes have won a few games at Avon, during this and the last 2 MAC tournaments. We were 4-0 in 2012, last a couple in 2013, but are 3-0 this year

I think that's mostly due to the fact that KSU is really good regardless of the location.

The game is blacked out in Ohio because of that stupid TWC Sports deal. Whoever thought it was a good idea to grant exclusivity to a single cable provider should be tossed into the Cuyahoga River.

Supposedly, there is a nice crowd at the game. It sure would have been nice to see it.
