I don't remember Isaiah Omoregie. VC lists him as 3star offer out of Tampa. 6'8", 225. Sounds like a better, svelter player. We could sure use one or the other at 6'8". Love to read their tweets: it's actually almost painful but Ima hope dey better students dan tweeters.

At this late date, if we are still recruiting, should we assume that someone is not coming back? It seems awfully late in the game now to tell a player that his scholarship is not going to be renewed. It seems more likely that Coach K already knows that someone is not returning, but he hasn't publicized it yet for whatever reason.

According to Verbal Commits Smith was offered by George Mason in May 2013 and just recently by the Rockets. New Asst Coach Wells was at George Mason in May 2013 so I'm guessing he has a relationship with this kid.

makes sense. smith was offered by a slew of schools last summer including st louis, st joes, drexel, nebraska, fgcu.... (lots of quality programs) but never signed. if this report is accurate, the rockets are offering him just a week before the end of the signing period. maybe, he procrastinated or was a late qualifier. probably, some reason he is still available.

as for his game, can't remember the last time i surfed through a bunch of 6-8 recruit's videos and he never dunked, except if he was an offensive tackle - which smith looks like. still, clearly a guy who eats space but also has a feel for the game and can shoot pass and knows his role. his team played at a high level of hs ball.

He recently de-comitted from UNC Greensboro. Sounds like his Dad is directing his moves.

This kid has moved around a lot, plus made a commitment and backed out. Red flags. Also question how well he could play defense at his weight.

Aren't you forgetting something? We don't play D.

I guess all the transfers we've accepted were OK backing out of their commitment. In this day and age alot of kids commit several times. How many football recruits that committed to us went to other schools. decommitting isn't a bad sign, it's a sign that coaches today don't stop recruiting kids even when they ARE COMMITTED.

he plays smart defense from what ive seen (there's actually some game video, not just highlights, of him out there) but isnt mobile enough at his weight to transition well to college ball. kid is a project in the good sense. has size and talent, but needs conditioning and fine tuning plus likely the typical time to mature.

reyes is the impact player. smith could be as valuable in 4 yrs. of course, the key is finding talented kids w enough size and athleticism who want to play for you and have their sh!t more or less together.

toledo has some cache now coming off 27 wins, with a good team culture, great facilities and player friendly atmosphere. reyes is looking at so cal (long beach) and hawaii along with some florida schools, toledo and maybe whichita st. smith seems to be pretty open and apparantly we have a connection to him that goes back a little bit. wonder what the situation is with the roster spots...

You would think it would be Aubrey Williams as the most likely candidate to transfer out of the program based on past performance/potential future playing time if we land either Smith or Reyes.
