CBS Sports bought AAC inventory, so I would guess that FOX is the hold up. Maybe they'll stick a bunch of games on FS2. That would be better than nothing, though only diehard C-USA fans would watch.

It's to the point I'd rather a Marshall home game be at 7pm on nothing but the local NBC affiliate than on Fox/CBS Ocho at noon.

Fox has first choice and then CBSsn can select.
As for diehard fans, most G5 games (not all) are watched by the diehards. Just the way it is unless its an ooc game vs a P5.

RE: Football TV schedule won't be released until June
Right, BB may be referring to CBSSN walking back coverage due the closure of CSS coupled with the announcement of an AAC GOTW...though that last bit only affects Sat. time slots. In the past, CBSSN selected @ 24 games. If you substract the 10 CSS broadcasts, that still leaves roughly one game a week...possibly a CUSA GOTW? Still, that's a lot of inventory reverting back to FOX for placement...which may be the holdup.
BTW, take all this with a grain of salt as I know next to nothing about tv negotiations, but I do read everything I can get my hands on. IMO, the commish really needs to be in the middle of this holding feet to the fire to maximize exposure (or at the very least making sure contractual agreements are fulfilled).

It probably comes down to either noon games on Saturday or mid-week games. Pick your poison.

Well, UTSA has three mid-week games this season:
- We have a Friday night game @ Houston that's supposed to be Nationally Televised.
- The very next week we have a Thursday night game with Arizona that is also supposed to be Nationally Televised.
- We have a Thursday night game with USM. I'm sure that was moved for TV as well.
When they first told us we were going to have some mid-week games, I was a little unhappy. But now I seem to be just fine with it. I guess when I started planning on making those mid-week home games, I realized I'd have to take a half day off of work to attend those games. I REALLY liked that idea. And I have the luxury of being able to take those half-days off.

Good find! Sticks we have to wait a bit longer. We're at that point of the year where we're just itching for anything about football that doesn't involve the draft.

How do you not get on ESPN or at least the deuce for a Friday night? Can't be much else on that night.

RE: Football TV schedule won't be released until June
^ This puzzled me too as NEWS games do not count toward the ESPN min. guarantee. It seems like an odd move other than to avoid being relegated to 3 if left on Sat. The only thing I can figure is that BYU/UCONN is scheduled for ESPN and there are two MWC/PAC games available that may go FS1/ESPN 2 when it's all said and done. This game could be bumped to U I guess...just not sure how much of a bump that is.

ESPNEWS is probably watched by just as many people as CBS Sports, NBC Sports, and more than FS2. C-USA teams used to move games to be broadcast on regional CSS.

Could be...I noticed at some point during last season they began reporting ratings. I guess that means some threshold was reached.

Agree with you whole heartedly. BB needs to earn his paycheck on the tv arrangements. Fox has had a minimum of 20, usually more utilizing FCS and CBSsn has had about 24. Another 10 were subbed out to CSS. Without CSS, the negotiations need to be focusing on finding a substitute and with FS2 sitting out there and FCS and Root and MASN, BB should be working hard to get the exposure our schools contracted for.

Due to the Petrino factor last season I am guessing, we had 2 games on ESPN NEws last season vs UK and Navy....Maybe this is the season FCS 2 shows something besides UCF reruns all day on a weekend or a random BIg East Lacrosse game...
