Pretty amazing streak. Soon, there won't be a player on the team who was alive the last year Rice did not win a baseball conference title.

This may be a research project only Alameda Mike is capable of (and it may even be beyond his vast library of internet knowledge), but I'd sure like to see if there are any collegiate teams at any level who have a longer conference championship streak (current but in any sport).

The Streak

The Conference Championship Streak

Kalamazoo College has won 76 consecutive conference championships in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). The MIAA was founded in 1888 and is the oldest collegiate athletic conference in the nation.
The string of championships dates back to 1936. Kalamazoo has won the title outright every year except for three seasons (1944-46) during World War II when no competition was held, in 1962 and 2003 when the Hornets shared the championship with Hope College, and in 2013 when Kalamazoo, Hope, and Calvin shared the title.
The last time Kalamazoo did not win the MIAA men's tennis title, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt had yet to complete his first term in office.
Kalamazoo has lost only three dual matches in 330 MIAA dual matches since 1935.
The 76-year streak is the longest known conference championship streak in any sport at any level in the world.

Let's take the whole thing tonight!

We still need the sweep. Let's win the conference by 3 or 4 games!

They may have it outright by the time of the first pitch - FAU leads UAB 4-1 in B5 in their second game today.

Absolutely incredible.

Shame I am moving back to Houston right AFTER baseball season. Would have loved to see these last few weeks in person.
