I'm pretty confident that we will end up in NYC. The Pinstripe Bowl turned down the Backyard Brawl for the Schwartzwalter. Barring a chance at either PSU v Pitt or bowl fatigue, I don't see Pitt getting picked for that bowl over Syracuse unless the records were so far apart that the Pinstripe had to pick Pitt due to the BC rule. I don't see that happening, though.

I'm also not sure that UConn will go bowling. They will either need a very favorable schedule or a pretty substantial turnaround.

That said, the Military Bowl would be fun.

Edit: How is Kent St in the Pinstripe? CBS must be down on the B1G.

Palm doesn't even have ND in the ACC bowl line up and based on this, Duke will be the third best team again...I don't see it.

Yeah, that's interesting... he has Notre Dame passing on the ACC bowls and accepting an invitation to replace the Big XII. I suppose that COULD happen, just not sure it WOULD.

BTW, if the Big Ten really fails to provide teams for the Pinstripe and Detroit bowls, how bad do THOSE bowls become? Yuck!

ACC will not allow ND to NOT be in their bowl lineup. There's too much money to be made.

I can't imagine the Big Ten not putting a team in NYC. And although the SEC is pegged into the Orange and there is still no projected (worthless this time of year) Big Ten team in the Pinstripe, the ACC could maybe manipulate the Orange matchup to ensure a Big Ten team in NYC for the ACC.

What the heck is the "BC" rule?

What the heck is the "BC" rule?

The "BC Rule" is the nickname given to the rule enacted when Clemson was selected over BC for a bowl (the Gator?) despite having fewer wins than the Eagles. This rule states that a team has to be within 1 win in order to jump another team.

This rule would not apply to bundled bowls like the Pinstripe, however. I assume it was just a chance for a Syracuse fan to harass BC fans.

Playoffs (#1): FSU

Orange (#2): Clemson

Russell Athletic (#3): Duke
Capital One (conditional): None

Gator/Music City (#4-7): UNC
Belk (#4-7): VT
Sun (#4-7): Miami
Pinstripe Bowls (#4-7): Pitt

Military (#8-10): Cuse
Advocare V100 (#8-10): Louisville
Detroit Lions Bowls (#8-10): BC
St Pete (#11): NCST

He doesn’t have Notre Dame taking any of the ACC bowl slots, but he is saying that at least 7 other ACC teams will be selected before UofL. To fall that low in the pecking order, we’d probably have to have a 6-6 type year.

No. I thought it applied to all ACC bowls. I don't know how else Pitt would get an invite to the Pinstripe before Syracuse, unless PSU was the B1G rep, which can't be the case due to a bowl ban.

As I wrote on the other board, somewhere along the way we stopped differentiating between predictions and guesses. Lists like this one are basically the same as astrology charts.

No bowl for GT for the first time since 1996? That will mean insta-firing after the UGAg game.

This is a slow time of year for college sports fans. Palm is taking advantage of that desperation.
