RE: AAC Baseball - Cards clinch at least a share
Good grief, the spin that some posters are applying to make it seem like Louisville leaving isn't a big deal is hilarious. They are unquestionably the best program in this conference and we're taking quite a hit in losing them. But tell yourself whatever you need to to feel better, I guess 03-drunk

Tulane baseball has fallen off a cliff since Hurricane Katrina.

You do know that Louisville shared the men's basketball regular season title with UC and won the men's basketball conference championship right?

Yes, Louisville was clearly the AAC basketball champion.

True, but I take satisfaction in knowing that (1) UConn "clearly" outshone them by winning the national championship and (2) Memphis beat them both games in the regular season. As for baseball, the combined quality and magnitude of ECU and Tulane's incoming programs more than offsets the effect of UL's departure. 07-coffee3

My hopes are well founded. East Carolina has an outstanding program with an impressive stadium that is usually filled. They have yet to make it to the CWS, but they have played in NCAA regionals many times and it is only a matter of when. Tulane has played in the CWS twice and was voted the most outstanding NCAA baseball program of the last decade. Until recently, their game with LSU held the record for the largest college baseball crowd. Their current coach owns the most wins in Tulane history and the Katrina setback is in the rear view mirror.

It's been almost 9 years since Katrina, and Tulane baseball is still firmly in the crapper. Just finished 23-29 with an RPI of 145. No objective evidence that they have put that behind them.

I feel like we failed. Our #1 goal was to deny UL & RU in everything.

Just to update you - UofL won the rowing championship today as well. 11 + 3 = 14 total championships. Looking to add one more with the baseball tourney. Thankfully we're getting out of the AAC before the juggernauts of ECU and TU arrive. The only problem is that Memphis may never win a championship.

To the rest of the conference - good luck to all of you and the AAC!

RE: AAC Baseball - Cards clinch at least a share
Several of those sports have only tourney champs or regular season champs as well so only ONE title is available in that sport -- such as the track and field, swimming, volleyball, football and rowing sports.

I thought UCF did really well in winning several and coming in second in quite a few sports as well. They look to be major players in several sports in the future -- but really need to bring up their men's basketball to be overall what they want.

I don't give Memphis beating us a second thought. We don't live and die to beat Memphis like you all do us. Your just another Seton Hall, Providence to us. Run along now.

swept out, swept out like trash.
repeats in your head.

just try this and really concentrate, the tigers didnt beat us twice this year, the tigers didnt beat us at home and away.. it didnt happen it didnt happen. we wons lotsa stuff, they really didnt beat us. just repeat it. maybe that willl help. maybe you can go on to the acc without those demons haunting you. fsu and clemson are gonna need that space we are occupying in your little bird brains. gotta work on freeing that space up. the sooner the better.

ZERO conference title for the Tigers. Whenever UofL is in a league with Memphis, you guys win nothing. When we leave you finally do. Coincidence? Nope. Maybe now that we are gone you can win something
