Neal Goff
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team and head coach Andy Murray have announced the signing of Neal Goff to a National Letter of Intent adding Goff to the 2014-15 roster.

In Goff the Broncos get an experienced defenseman who played three seasons for the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League, USA's top-tiered junior hockey league. He appeared in 166 total games, including playoffs, in three seasons and recorded 10 goals and 18 assists.

"Neal is a strong-skating defenseman who brings a lot of size and leadership to our team," said Murray on Fargo's captain.

Goff, who measures in at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, joins fellow Fargo Froce alums Chris Dienes, Taylor Fleming and Colton Hargrove on the roster.

The Stillwater, Minn., native is one of seven incoming freshman for the upcoming season, joining defensemen Scott Moldenhauer and Paul Stoykewych and forwards Aidan Muir, Frederik Tiffels, John Carpino and Willem Nong-Lambert.

That was two years ago. He was reinstated and made captain. Interesting.

Ok, I like this addition. All three incomming defensemen have some size to them, with 2-3 years of junior hockey under their belt.

I'm assuming the additon of Goff means Shiplo is not comming in. With Goff, D numbers are at 8.

And the name I'm waiting to hear more about is Iacopelli. I thought he was scheduled to come in this year?

Carpino was also a guy that wasn't on the early 2013 LOI signing list.

I know it's early, but I really like how this team is shapping up. Goff was a good late addition. [/font]

I'm going to wait until after all the NHL combines are complete to see if there are anymore earlier departures, before I comment on how I think we will do in the NCHC. I really like our chances
