Think UTEP with even fewer fans and less success...

Though, to be fair, I do like the city of Las Cruces.

The new Sun Belt doesn't look that different over the new C-USA just from an outsiders view. The new Sunbelt league has some decent markets and start-ups to FBS just like the new C-USA. They have ULL that can travel pretty well (at least to New Orleans). It will be interesting to see those two conferences compete over the next few years.

C-USA should of added ULL in the last wave of expansion.

Glad UMass found a home. I think they need to stick it out in FBS and they need somewhere to play.

I think being in a league with southern schools will definitely boost UMass recruiting and allow them to develop a bit

Honestly, I agree. I think it'll be a little more exciting for them playing up and coming teams with pretty decent and motivated fans than the MAC schools, who have been playing forever but mostly don't have engaged fanbases.

The old Sunbelt maybe. But the new sunbelt, I mean they have a lot of converts from FCS, just like UMass.

This move is for football only I'd assume. It's not a big deal to go to UMass or Idaho once every few years.

Their basketball conference is about as centric if not more so than any of the other FBS conferences.

This a much better move for the Sunbelt than adding Liberty. Its a much better move for UMass than being independent. Looks like a win-win situation to me.

So the Sunbelt is the first conference to go national. A team in all 4 time zones.

Whose their Pacific zone team? Idaho is MTN.

So which division does WKU go to and which does South Alabama go to? USA is closer to the UL schools, but you would probably want to ensure they play Troy every year.

As a UMass alum, it's prob better than the MAC but the situation is so bad that I don;t even know if we can out recruit Sun Belt schools. There will be absolutely zero fan interest in this league, none. Hell, I'd say easily over 50% of UMass fans couldn't even name 2 Sun Belt schools.

I know UMass didn't have many options, but how is this move gonna revive their football!?! I think Indy is a better route for them, IMO.

WKU is leaving for CUSA in less than two months. The OP's map was incorrect.

Good call. Divisions are pretty apparent then. East division isn't bad excepting the UMass trip. West division definitely should be set up so that no one has to go to NMSU and Idaho in the same year.
