I care about being over run by illegal immigrants and rising inflation. TARP was enacted under Bush, driving inflation. The Republicans are now coming around and supporting immigration reform. The last time we had welfare reform was under a Democratic President.

Have the Republicans put someone up with voting for instead of another retread of RINO. Boehner is a Democrat more or less, Romney was as well as McCain (who I voted for, btw). I see no reason to vote for a Republican as long as they continue to put big spending candidates in place.

But once again, so is your vote. If McCain would have won he would have done almost everything that has gone down under Obama (save Obamacare). If Romney would have won he wouldn't have stopped Obamacare from being enacted, it was unstoppable by that point. No more CEOs getting $20M in compensation but taking $19M of it in stock options so they only get taxed at 15% upon the time they sell them. If you got $20M in compensation, you are going to pay taxes on $20M of income.

The Patriot Act has some good pieces, but has been abused beyond the spirit of the law. I'll be the first to admit I regret getting swept away in 9/11 vengeance and supporting it along with other Homeland spending bills and the Iraq War. You live, you learn.

As I point out every time you say this... BOTH PARTIES HAVE OVER SPENT! Who was in charge the 8 years before that? When Bush left office he added more debt than any President before him. Obama has continued on that path, but neither party is serious about balancing the budget.

I didn't read the Patriot Act, but it was sold as the ability to spy on correspondence between terrorists overseas and the US (I still support this notion), not among US Citizens within the US.
