Congrats to Wad Phaewchimplee! Outstanding accomplishment.....

The story below appears at kentstatesports.com:

Kent State's Wad Phaewchimplee was named Golfweek Women's Player of the Week for her unprecedented performance at this past weekend at the NCAA Central Regional.

Phaewchimplee became the second Golden Flash in history to win a NCAA Regional, finishing the event 7-under to top some of the best golfers in the country. Her total score of 209 ties the second-best 54-hole tournament score all-time at Kent State. She is the third Golden Flash to ever qualify for the NCAA Championships as an individual, following the footsteps of teammate Jennifer Ha who did so a year ago.

Her first round score of 65 also set a Kent State record as the lowest total ever shot at an NCAA event and matched the lowest 18-hole round ever shot by a Golden Flash.

The freshman from Thailand will now compete at the NCAA Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, May 20-23.

Congrats and Good Luck! 01-ncaabbs

I would think she would have a chance to win it. She needs that one good round like she had in the regional. That would be a great individual accomplishment. Maybe even better than Kilgore since so many more teams participate in womens golf than wrestling.
