True. Cincinnati has played Memphis 31 times, yet only 9 of the meetings were as members of C-USA. UC never was in C-USA at the same time as Tulsa and yet we have played them 31 times as well.

Similar story with UH vs Tulsa. We've played them 38 times (I believe that's UH's 2nd most played team) and only 8 times have been in the same conference (CUSA).

Yeah didn't have the heart to post that and 3 years later an 0-10 TCU team beat us to take us out of bowl contention

20-7 over a USCe team with a 3-5 SEC conference record in birmingham bowl is a blowout. Manhandled them?

Smack talking the SEC by a UCONN fan, Stahp. Stuff like this makes it hard for anyone to take UCONN football serious. Beat a ranked SEC big 6 school, then you have earned your chops.

Seriously, what is the biggest win in UCONN football history. i am just curious. Old big east schools dont count. Your other 2 bowl wins are Buffalo and Toledo. Navy? Indiana? Iowa state?

SMU played Navy shortly after Ford Stadium opened. It was a grass field back then. SMU scored and some fireworks were set off, catching the endzone on fire.

Not sure what happened in the rest of that game

We have had turf ever since

At the victory party that night UC was challenged to a game by LSU. UC played the Tigers in Baton Rouge on New Years Day and won 28-0.

That is awesome...

I was at this game, it was in the old stadium and the Phillies (I am a fan) had the Orioles in town during the 83 World Series. I remember going to a tall building and looking down upon the Vet!

I was there, I was 5 years old but I remember it.........vaguely!

Why would the Orioles be in town for the 83 world series in November of 82?

Another one most folks don't realize: Memphis/Tulane, we've played 29 times in the last 37 seasons, 16 as independents and 13 in C-USA.

I watched that game with a Notre Dame alum. He's pretty wound-up even in the best of times, but I honestly thought he was going to explode with rage when that game ended. He almost did.

RE: Fun History Games of AAC teams
UCF's first game against a current AAC team was when the Knights played Louisville at Cardinal Stadium on November 2nd, 1985. UCF lost 42-21 in front of about 21,000 people.

Our first game against a 2014 AAC team was 5 years later at Memphis. It was our very first year playing as a I-AA (FCS) team. We lost that one 37-28 on September 22nd, 1990 also in front of about 21,000 people. That year, the Knights went 10-4 and lost in the semifinals of the playoffs. UCF became the first school in history to make the playoffs in their very first year in the division. We finished ranked #18 in the FCS polls.

no one knew how to run up a score like houston.. good times 03-cloud9

73-17 tulane 011
56-3 ecu 011
49-0 cincy 72
55-14 memphis 09

while holding 80% of all ncaa offensive records :)

its actually kinda depressing that we might be more a defensive team next year. we didnt win championships but our games sure were fun to watch (for houston fans anyways)

Don't forget:
65-7 Temple '89
73-14 Tulsa '66
82-28 Tulsa '88
70-30 Tulsa '08
71-33 Cinci '68

Only UCF, USF, and UConn are relatively blowout free:
UCF 51-31 in '06, our only win in 5 tries
USF 35-23 last year, our only win in 3 tries
Haven't played UConn yet

We've only played future member Navy once: a 35-0 win in 1980 in the Garden State Bowl.

Easy enough to get the '82 and October 15, 1983 ECU-Temple games mixed up. ECU won 23-10 in '82 and 24-10 in '83. Interestingly enough, Temple would win the next two games in '84 and '85 in Greenville. Rough start for the home team in the series.

We have always been D1. We were playing big boy football before some of the schools in this conference even existed or had teams.

We have sucked a lot, but we do have longevity.
