Molls having big Spring
Carly Molls, that is. Dan's younger sister currently stands fourth in the MAC javelin standings with a throw over 140'. She's come a long way since her freshman year. We haven't scored any thrower points in the MAC-maybe EVER on the women's side but at least in a long while. Be nice to see the Moll tradition of excellence at UT continue with a big throw in the MACs.

Didn't we have a transfer discus thrower a few years ago that was throwing in the 150's?

Possible but I've followed fairly closely for about a decade and don't recall one. That would be a huge throw. URIC might know or K Haskell if he still checks here.

Try as you may, you're not going to trick people into liking track and field. Your purposefully misleading posts do nothing to advance your cause. I personally find them to be a great annoyance. Might I humbly suggest that you attempt to accurately represent the topics of your posts?

"Misleading post" - I don't think so !!! FWIW, why would Dan Molls be having a big spring? Carly Molls yes, Dan Molls no. Track and field dialogue is a refreshing change of pace from football and basketball. Wish UT still sponsored mens track along with wrestling...

You might. Or you might open the post, read the first two words and think "Another misleading post from that a**shole H2O" and move on. Ten seconds of your life gone, eh? A number of people have expressed an interest in T & F here and I do things how I do things. I might humbly suggest that you not open threads I start-I 'm hardly the first person to use creative thread titles and I don't do it all that often but if it's annoying to you there is a fairly simple solution. Of course you then miss out on all the scintillating info in the threads I start that AREN'T misleading! 03-wink

RE: Molls having big Spring
I like it that people are covering other UT sports. I've never been to a UT track meet, but I think I would probably like it if I did. But, I probably won't. FB, MBB, WBB are about all I have time for. If I made time for another sport it would probably be volleyball as I enjoy watching that.

Back to the original topic. Upon further thought, I believe the discus thrower was originally from NW Ohio and threw someplace out West like Arizona. I believe she transferred to UT with maybe one year of eligibility remaining. Don't know if she ever threw here.

There werec 2 sisters out of Genoa or Elmore or someplace who were bboth great diiscus throwers. Older got a big school schollie IIRC. Might be her. Don' t recall her transferring to UT but both were ranked highly nationallly in HS. Their dad coached and Blade did several articles. Can't think of names.

You're thinking of Erin and Emily Pendleton. They went to Woodmore and both went to Michigan.

Detroit Rocket, you respectfully, did not originate the topic, or start the thread.

Correct H20.
Part of my past comments that were not taken nicely by past athlete and coach at our school.
Very refreshing, ..the sport is Track....and FIELD.

Forgot about Mary. That goes way back but she was very good. Yes, to all who mentioned the Pendeltons, that's who I was thinking of. They were beasts! Thanks for getting us back on track, DR, no pun intended.

Well, I threw shot, javelin, hammer, long jumped and high jumped at some point during my poor excuse of a track career at UT,so I have a soft spot in my heart for field events. Hadsell did have outstanding jumpers at times. April Miller was all -American and we typically picked up more jump point in the MAC than sprint/ hurdle points.
