UC get DE Martinez!!! Over Rutgers and BC
Dantonio is now starting to get a higher caliber of student-athlete.

Martinez had offers from Boston College, Rutgers, and others.

Chazz Anderson had offers from Purdue and Indiana.

Scott Johnson had a offer from Indiana. (Many other schools probably would have offered Johnson, but he did not participate in many summer camps).

Robb Trigg is a solid prospect who held offers from most of the top-tier MAC schools including Miami(OH), Toledo, and Kent State.

Sirgo Welch is a 4-star transfer from Ohio State.

Mister Simpson is a 3-star transfer from Michigan.

The overall talent level of UC is getting considerably better. Hopefully, we can keep this positive momentum going.

Excellent pickup! Now we need to add some more offense (a game breaking wide receiver or two, and a big time tight end) and we'll be a Top 25 caliber squad. The defense is definitely legit.

Coach D is loading up on Defense!! You are right, we need another good receiver to go with Stewart and Goodman but I really hope we can get a couple of really good O-line guys.....our WR's are decent now and our RB's are decent......really we need O-line.

If we can get a big play QB in here to groom now we will be really set in a couple of years.....Grutza is turning out to be okay and if we can get a good frosh in next year, he'll have two years to develop without pressure since it looks like Grutza is going to at least be average for us the next two years....

with most of this team coming back next year plus Lennix/Simpson and a much easier schedule we might see 8 wins next year!!

I like the easier schedule part. This is being done right. This team was/will be tested heavily and sent through the grinder having played 4 Top 10 teams, a Top 15 team and a Top 35 team this year, with 4 of the 6 being on the road. Next year UC will be ready to take the step to being one of those teams that's so good they test others. Win all of our OOC games, which is possible, and 4 games in the Big East and UC could win 8 or 9 next year if this team improves like we expect. You never know. That's why I want UC to get at least 6 wins this year and go to a bowl game. That will help this team's psyche along with helping with recruiting.

Chazz Anderson is quite possibly that QB you speak of. Stewart is the big play WR already. We must continue to load new kids into the system.

If the team continues to improve, which is likely considering it's still a sophomore-junior heavy team, then 8 wins is very possible next year. Not assured of course. but ooc is reasonably 4-1 or perhaps 5-0. In conference we should be strong enough to win 3 or 4, despite the heavy road schedule and facing UL and WVU at home.

If things go our way and we get some upsets we could be looking at a very special year, although I think 2008 is lining up to be the year we make the big push.
