YEah this tells me nothing so far. It only says they avoided the worst possible scenario which would be 9 games with these same crap divisions.

There still has to be some divisional shuffling or a system where more rivalries/good football games are there for tv and the fans.

Gotta love playing Notre Dame twice as much in 12 years as your closest opponent Georgia Tech while getting BC/Syracuse every fricken year. What a joke.

Navy will be a member of the American in 2015. Unless the American is joining the P5, I don't see why they'd be considered a P5 opponent.

Yeah apparently playing Army is ok but playing UConn, Cincinnati, UCF, USF and Boise State is a problem.

one creative solution to keeping the divisions playing 8 games but playing more teams from other division more frequently is to play 5 division games yearly(vs 6 currently) then perm cross over and then rotate 2 games thru other division. So you skip 1 division opponent once every 6 years

id only count army and navy or any American/mwc team if your playing away

I'd like to apologize in advance to the other fans who actually take football seriously that GT pitched out some steamy turd votes from the Bobo the clown who should presently be back at Xavier in any just universe.

Only way I see those teams as a P5 is if the Big 12 dissolves. The AAC becomes the 5th team in the P5 after absorbing whatever teams are left after the ACC/SEC/Pac12/B1g take who they want. Really a head scratcher that comment!

By your standards, GT hasn't cared about FB for years and years. They continue to employ a coach that runs a offense that should only be read about in text books and their admissions standards for FB players is significantly higher than the SEC. That alone should tell you that GT will not be taking FB seriously until 1) they get a coach that is willing to play more innovative schemes on O and D and 2) relax their criteria for incoming FB students.

Yeah, I get that Stanford has the high standards yet still can field a competitive team. But it's not until quite recently that this has been the case, and who knows how much longer it will last. For the record, I'm not sure if GT and Stanford use the same standards for incoming FB freshmen.

As an outside observer I think it was wise to stay at 8 but they should scrap the divisions. I thought the ACC was going to be incredibly forward thinking but hey what ever.
