Dear Friends,

Alexander has taken heat from MI HS and travel coaches because he recruits more out of state kids then he does MI kids. Less than a third of the roster is from MI. This strategy may be working against him.

Not sure I follow you:

Before this season, Alexander was .500 in the MAC (and nearly .500 overall which is difficult for northern schools because they have to play so many road games in February and March).

What was Ramsey's record, overall and conference? Would he have been not kept with a .500 conference record?

I'm not sure a coach who had one bad conference season out of six and is honored by the NCAA for academics (top 10% of all D-I baseball programs, that is a gold star honor, beating 90% of peers) is a candidate to be dismissed.

I might add, editorially, that IF Alexander would be dismissed with exceptional academic and 'ordinary' on-the-field performance it would send the wrong message.

His on-the-field was not ordinary the last 3 years it was bad.

I would say below .500 for both conference and non conference. Its trending the wrong way. Is .500 or below .500 where we want our programs to be when a coach has been here for six years? Is that progress?

But again you really didn't want English to go either so I'm not surprised.

By the way your APR posting shows exactly what I mean about Boone and Ramsey-it has a comprehensive historical listing showing the improvement under Ramsey.

He loved books as well.
