Some Draft Facts ...
Now that it is over ...

1) Texas A&M and Louisville had the most first-round picks, 3 each, and those were the only three draft picks that A&M had.

2) Most players drafted:

LSU: 9
Alabama: 8
Notre Dame: 8

LSU had as many draft picks as the entire 2014 AAC:

UCF: 2
UConn: 2
SMU: 2
USF: 1
Memphis: 1
Tulane: 1

Temple, Cincy, ECU, Tulsa and Houston had nobody drafted.

3) The Mighty Texas Longhorns had nobody drafted.

RE: Some Draft Facts ...
didn't louisville have 3 first round

and houston had 19 returning starters not that many options to get drafted, we only even had 1 projected coming into the season and he transferred out a few months before the season (rb charles sims to WVU, 3rd round) was projected 3rd round before he left

Wow, Quo starts a thread that shows how much better the SEC is than the AAC. What a frickin' surprise. Exactly the kind of thread an AAC fan would post.

Thanks for getting this together Quo

A lot of players will go the free agent route...not that many of them will stick around

I'm surprised they haven't banned this troll yet. I have seen posters do less and get the ban hammer.

I didn't compare the SEC to the AAC. I compared LSU to the AAC, and not because LSU is in the SEC, but because they happened to be the team with the most draft picks. If Colorado had been the team with 9 picks, I'd have cited them instead.

My point? There has been a lot of over-heated talk about the quality of AAC football around here. We were really quite bad, but some have pointed to UCF's Fiesta win as indicating otherwise, so I thought this comparison dramatized how far we really have to go. It's a long way.

# of draft picks is nice and all, but it doesn't tell the whole story.

Look at UNC... 5 players picked, but lost 55-31 to ECU, who had 0 players picked.

Summarizing this post:

"I'm not saying that the AAC sucks compared to the SEC; I'm just saying that the AAC sucks."

Texas had the longest streak of at least one player taken in the draft every year, since 1938.

i dont have a problem with maize posting here. all he is doing is correcting the drivel that quo is spewing.

and to our resident troll:

hey quo..... i stubbed my toe this morning. please create a story for me on how it is related to the AAC sucking. you seem to do that with every other topic.

Thanks....the fact is the 2014 Draft if you want to talk conferences you can't omit Louisville from the AAC and you can't just say Texas A&M-(of the SEC) was the "ONLY" school with 3 First Round Picks when you had an AAC School also with 3 First Round Picks and the 1st QB Taken was the AAC Offensive POY @ #3 Overall...05-nono
