AAC Baseball title going down to the final weekend
Both UCF and UofL are tied for first in the standing. Cards dropped a head scratcher to Temple this afternoon snapping our 11 game win streak. UCF owns the tie breaker.

Next week UofL hosts Cincinnati while the Knights travel to UConn.

Last year for Temple baseball. Win one for the Gipper and all that.
Not surprised we lost.

UCF also won the softball regular season, and will play Louisville tomorrow for the AAC tournament championship.

UCF/Louisville has been a good all-sports series this year. Top 2 in football, women's soccer, baseball, and playing for the softball championship.

I was shocked that UL dropped that Temple game, but you guys obviously still have the edge hosting last place UC while we play up at UConn. With the way we've been playing the last week or so, I wouldn't be all that surprised if we dropped a game or two up in Storrs. Very frustrating.

It's the tournament that matters most. Looking over the records and who-beat-who this year, it strikes me that AAC baseball is much like AAC basketball: strong overall and relatively balanced. It would be dangerous to bet on who wins the tournament in Clearwater. It is a shame that Temple is dropping the sport and that Tulsa and SMU do not play it.

Standings (and RPI rankings) heading into the last weekend of the conf regular season:

UCF 16-5 (#48)
UL 16-5 (#18)
UH 13-8 (#8)
Rutgers 12-8 (#75)
USF 10-14* (#141)
Temple 8-13 (#239)
UCONN 7-13 (#120)
Memphis 7-14 (#111)
Cinci 6-15 (#170)

*finished conf play for the year

Conf Tourn Championship carries with it an auto NCAA bid...so some teams currently with low RPI's could play their way into the NCAA with a tourn title.
