It doesn't take a genius to know this. When two women engage in sex a rubber ***** will not spurt out semen. When two men engage in sex a baby will not be capable of being fertilized in the colon. To add, adoption by same sex couples will not produce more babies. Again, how can abortions increase population. They're killing the humans that could have added to the population.

While I understand that allowing homosexuals to marry may reduce the amount of sex they have (they are married after all), I'm not sure I understand how it makes homosexual sex any less likely to produce a baby. Are you suggesting that there are a bunch of "straight" people just waiting until they can get gay married before they come out?

And can you walk me through what abortions have to do with this issue? I'm having a hard time understanding the connection between gay marriage and abortion. Of all the relationships that don't lead to abortions, I would think that gay marriages are pretty high on the list.

Your obviously well-considered theory seems to ignore the possibilities of artificial insemination (for the ladies) and surrogate births (for the fellas). It is certainly possible that allowing stable homosexual relationships to form will increase the birthrate. While I doubt the effect will be all that large, I suspect an increase is more likely than a decrease.

The problem in the U.S. with birthrates is that people who can afford to have children just aren't having them. They'd rather go on annual trips and buy 3rd cars than have children that will stand the chance of doing well in society as adults. The people who will have kids are the folks that can't afford to have them, or raise them properly. So while there's always exceptions, the vast majority of future Americas will be from poorer and less educated backgrounds. It doesn't take much intelligence to see how that will affect every aspect of life in this country in the coming decades.

Question:

Will gay marriage make people have less babies? It's not like they were producing kids anyway.

IMO yes. As it becomes more accepted, more people will go in that direction that would not if it is not accepted.

I could care less if two same sex consenting adults choose to marry. I do however object to them bringing children into their contract.
