Gawd awful decision by Aquino results in turning a bloop into a 2-run, inside the park HR. Geez. Just horrific decision to dive on that one.

Gotta feel for McCanna, as even the 2-out single was of the "seeing eye" ground ball variety.

And no error (per game tracker) because Aquino didn't touch the ball?

With 2 outs and a runner on base, a corner OFer cannot dive in that situation, and if you do, you've got to go straight on so the ball bounces into your body. Aquino slid in from the side and the ball scooted right past him. Just a killer.

Well, you've got to give the batter a hit. It's like a misjudged fly ball.

Since i've joined in we haven't had single decent AB-- Warren fans looking to lead off the inning, after watching a fastball right down broadway for the 2nd strike. What the heck are our batters doing?
Hoelscher flied out to Cf.
Reeves grounds out.
We are going extremely quietly. Offense looks sick.

Sun going down here in central Texas and Rice coming up for T9.

Teykly allowed a single in B8, but that was all.

Particularly disappointing given that he is a senior.

Trevor gives up a leadoff bloop single, but nothing more. Time for the offense to wake up and give us some quality ABs.

McDowell check swings at a ball out of the strike zone. Just shaking one's head.
Ewing weak infield pop. Offense has gone into a deep sleep the last 4 innings.
Teykl struck out on 3 pitches.
An unbelievably listless offensive performance.

McCanna pitched a very good game, and Teykl was his usual lights out self. Awful defensive decision coupled with an offensive offense.

Hopefully, the guys can wake up and play with a bit more energy and focus tomorrow, or we've not only blown any hope of a national seed, but we've opened the CUSA door to UAB and USM.

Bounce Back Saturday. And here's hoping for a better audio feed!

If it wasn't mother's day weekend and LL tournament time and yard work and shuttling kids up and down Mopac, I'd be sorely tempted to head to SA. -Walter M

Walt, I hate to break the news to you but UTSA had a pretty good Friday night guy. Our hitters are all above average and he managed to stymie the majority of them...just a question, do you really think they choke on purpose to be able to see your dismay at their performance? Sorry, neither you, the message board contributors both skeptical and positive, nor I factor into the equation...they are doing what they do the best way they can at the moment.

Let's not over-build up the UTSA starter. Yes, he's got a good ERA and K:BB stats, but his BAA was just .270 coming in (giving up well over a hit per IP against weak opposition), and his record was just 5-3.
The offense is what it is, but it is not very good...and extremely inefficient since we do not work the count and get solid BB totals. The break doesn't appear to have helped. We may have scored 6 runs on Wednesday against a weak HBU team, but most of those were gifted and came late in the game.
