I really dislike Tropicana Field. Bring the Rays to the State Fairgrounds or Channelside even.

The Trop for baseball isn't bad at all....

But it is...which is why its ranked last in most MLB Baseball Standing Rankings.

Trop was an abomination when it was built...and sadly, land in Downtown Tampa (by the Channel) is going, going, almost gone...as that would have been a perfect location for a stadium...plus have city amenities/business grow around it...

The Trop is now 24 years old and still hasn't lead to many new businesses opening up next door...even decades later.

Maybe the Rays will build new ball park elsewhere ans sell USF the property? Not even sure if that would be a feasible idea. Just talking out loud.

That property is basically worthless...including the area right around it...even though it had at least 81 baseball games a year.

It would be even worth less (if thats possible) if a small football stadium was built to host 6-7 games per year...some 33 miles away from USF's campus.

USF already plays in a too big of a stadium(approx 66,000 seats) some 12 miles from campus...so no clue why they would go play in one some 33 miles away on the other side of the bay.
