Plus you're paying him over the table so there is less of a chance to get caught cheating.
Good point. So dad is pimping himself out? Is he really planning on moving his crew to FL, or is he waiting for the highest bidder?
How much stuff does a third assistant do anyway?

Would his contract automatically terminate when he runs out of sons?

RE: Josh- You know what you have to do.
Ya'll are cray-cray.
The choice to hire a THIRD assistant who can bring in three great players. It seems Keelon is a good enough guy, and he is just doing what he has to do as a father to look out for his kids.
NONE of us are in this ridiculously unique position, so I really can't judge him.
What I can do, at this point, is wonder whether it would be better to have him or Scott Sanderson on the bench and what Memphis will lose by not hiring him.
I know some on here want to spite the face by telling Keelon to hit the bricks, but is that what is best for the program?
I really don't recall us getting upset about hiring Milt, or by hiring Tyreke's trainer. Some here wanted us to hire the JUCO coach from Florida who could bring in some kids from his class.

No he will follow them to the pros. Not as an assistant but as guardian and a fan.

RE: Josh- You know what you have to do.
Go for it. Keelon is actually qualified. Played D-1 ball at UAB, and coached a champ at Hamilton. Oh, and he has 2 five-star sons, and one 4-star.
It's perfectly legal, has been done by Kansas twice and us once with Wagner, plus done by other schools, too.
We're talking the 3rd assistant's spot here. Makes perfect sense to me. Tough business. But legal. If we don't, somebody else will, and make us regret it. I'm not THAT high-minded, lol.

Didn't see it asked or answered, can the dad coach? If so, why not? It happened with Cal, at Kansas & probably a lot of other places. Get it done & keep the kids at Memphis.

Just hire Keelon and Tony Sarwar. Then that drama is over. We'll have three burger boys and guys being able to do shirtless incline presses.
Plus, Memphiscanes won't be able to post on his thread anymore.

I don't blame him for shopping himself. I personally would put the full court press on Skal. Skal is a program changer more so than the Lawson's in my opinion.
