Not a fan of this, at all. This kid has F'ed up more times than I can count, we were rid of the drama, a mistake rolling the dice again.

Definitely a risk. Mick seems to really care for this kid. Kept his nose clean at JUCO and played really well. I hope he has matured some in the last couple years and can succeed this time around.

You must not be able to count very high...

RE: Octavius Ellis
The recruiting class of Sanders, Guyn, Thomas, and Ellis get a chance to prove something this season. I like the roster for next season and believe they could be scary good by the end of the year. It is going to be a heck of ride next year, so I hope our fan base is smart enough to sit through the growing pains next season. I am ready for basketball.

Its always been my understanding that he was suspended after the fight, and then got in more trouble after. If there were any other incidents, please share

RE: Octavius Ellis
Mick has built up a mountain of equity when it comes to recruiting solid characters, if he wants to take a chance on a player I'm alright with that.

I believe he got into a fight at a downtown bar that ended up getting him kicked off.

I already posted this in the recruiting section, but if Mick was going top take a chance on two guys with "character issues" why the hell not take a chance on Torian Graham, the SG we so desperately need instead of a PG and a PF?

Unless someone leaves and Micks adds an impact player this just feels like another swing and miss signing period for Mick.

Someone comfort me, what guys that were original targets has Mick ever landed?

RE: Octavius Ellis
I think we all wanted a shooter and by all accounts Cobb is just that. Ellis adds athleticism and shot blocking. 1-13 it will be a battle for playing time which hopefully will make everyone better. I'm confident that Caupain, Johnson and Mormon were going to be capable guards and now I think Cobb can be a guy who can average an efficient 7 ppg off the bench and is capable of getting a few higher scoring games if he gets hot shooting it.

i do wonder how adding Ellis will affect Clark and Moore's PT. I don't like to speculate on redshirting but it seems like someone is going to get burried behind others, just not sure who.

I'm sure Mick had a plan. Just because we're just learning about these guys this week doesn't mean Mick wasn't expecting this. Not getting Stewart is a little disappointing, with getting him on campus, it would have been nice to close the deal. However we weren't the favorites going into it.

He got kicked out for very little imo. And yet needed to change his mindset. I am for it.

But if Mick is willing to take TWO guys that have been kicked off teams, why not take Graham?

His issues were not as cleared up as many thought.
