So the south moves from slavery, to sharecropper, to "right to work states"
and I think they've found their "sweet spot".
They are doing their damndest to drag the rest of the country with them in their race to the bottom. Reagonomics has worked!!! We are decimating the middle class. The rich have never been richer. The GOP has to be pleased with their model.

Your analysis offers no facts, no mechanism, no substance. Instead it's historically inaccurate, logically flawed and simply nothing more than a juvenile rant.
You want discussion? How about this, it's teachers like you that are keeping the nation's students from being more competitive, http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-05-07...gress.html

You blame the teachers? I blame the families and students themselves.
Education starts at home.
There are certainly bad teachers, but I know a lot of very smart individuals who gave up great careers in the private sector to teach, only to give up and go back to the private sector after seeing what a disgrace many parents are. After hearing their stories, I have virtually no hope for urban black america.

Start your own thread Torch.
back to the op.
We have in sourced and out sourced the middle class. What balance is left for blue collar America? How can we level the playing field? Abolish income taxes and go to a wealth tax? The inequality is only growing. We need a paradigm shift.

Like Capt. Brownshirt needs to start another thread blaming teachers for the decimation of our country. Give one thread a rest Goebbels.

Comparing Right to Work to Slavery... It's an American History based version of Goodwins Law... If you compare something or someone to a slaveholder you have already lost the argument.

All these folks that condem the South never address the fact that millions of people continually move here every year. If it was so damn bad folks would not migrate to the South. Even the better weather would not make up for all the "rottenness" some people make up about the South.

I was actually thinking about this on the way in to work today...
Everyone has a hand in the failure of our educational system
Kids - Brats who think their crap does not stink
Parents - For Enabling Kids
Teachers - For caring more about their union than their classroom
Administrators - for Tying the hands of the teachers who do care more about their classroom
School Boards - For hiring too many administrators
Voters - For skipping school board elections
It's a hot mess in education right now. No was spaending 20K per kid in DC, Detroit, or Minneapolis should be yielding the pathetic results we get

Of course you do. Never mind the fact that teachers undermine efforts of parents, and complain about involved parents unless they provide the one thing teachers really want: compliance.

because the South's economy was based on it..................
now you've progressed. Sharecroppers to RTW. Actually I took the op from another site but there is some truth to it. We are in a giant race to the bottom. Every time I hear about Texas and poaching companies I'm going to bring this up. The parasitic South has found it's sweet spot. Always someone poorer than you ready to work for a dollar less an hour. These R T W states can exploit that.

Abolish Income Taxes? but then all those union stooges working for the IRS would lose a job...
How about Abolish Income Taxes and go to a national sales tax with a yearly prebate for citizens?
Blue collar America is screwed until you bring jobs back Mach. The problem is not that blue collar jobs don't pay, they problem is that they are gone! And when the Blue collar jobs are gone you increase the supply/demand ratio for labor, that decreases wages.
Want to raise blue collar wages? create a lot more *private* sector jobs for low skilled people. That will increase wages in a natural way.

They also don't realize that the Union kept their slaves while the South freed theirs, but I don't really think we need to go there... The South has a reputation to keep, eh?

See my point about teachers wanting compliance?

Proof? Because automation has caused a great deal of displacement. More than outsourcing IMO.
