UVerse is available in some parts of the city but not all. The major cable provider is COX, which I have, and as of now there is no agreement with COX to carry the SECN. That sucks, for me.

I have DirecTV here in Baton Rouge. That doesn't matter, though, since I will not watch the SECN any more than I will the BTN.

To be honest, though, I wouldn't watch an ACC network either, other than when ND games were on.

Apparently, ATT is buying Direct TV, pending FCC approval. What does this mean for the SECN?

Well Medic, ATT already has the SECN on Uverse. And even prior to the deal Direst TV has announced their intentions to pursue the SECN for the August 14 opening. So I think whether the deal goes through or not both will have it. If it does go through AT&T will likely utilize Direct TV in rural areas where it is too expensive to run the fibre optic cable that Uverse utilizes.

True. I do not have access to U Verse where I live. I have DISH, but it would make sense that if Direct doesn't work this out with the SEC, the unhappy Direct TV customers who also have no U Verse access could easily switch providers. This covers all the bases for ATT. ATT has been bundling services with Direct TV for a while so I guess it should surprise no one.
