Quote:Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the future home of the San Francisco 49ers, is the favorite for the 2014 title game, SI.com reported.
Makes sense to me.

Sure. If you can get a sponsor, it's a no-brainer. More money for the conference.

I'm not as sold on all these neutral site games as the conferences are. The bowl games are already getting harder to attend financially. You've added in a potential 2nd one for the top caliber teams. All in all, if I was going to decide to spend money to go to one, the only advantage a conference championship game would have over going to a bowl instead would be distance. If my team is going to the conference championship game then I know a) they are going to win, which means I'd rather save up to go to the Rose Bowl/CFP Bowl or b) they are going to lose, in which case I have less incentive to go.

I tend to agree. These games can be great events, but with conferences now spread out so far geographically, attending a CCG is as expensive and difficult for fans as attending a bowl. With the CFP adding a third potential neutral site game, and the potential for a fourth if/when the CFP expand to 8 schools, something has to give.
Separately, conferences have every incentive to help their highest rated school win the CCG in order to qualify for the four school CFP. Giving the school with the best record home field advantage in the CCG will ensure a sell out, minimize travel expense for one school anyway, and help the school with the best record qualify for the CFP. Don't say that it's unfair to the other school. Home field advantage is commonly awarded to teams with better records in other contexts.

THere is an agenda behind the action. simply; PAC 12 network is not doing well financially and not getting the projected revenue like the big 10 network or the planned SEC network. Schools are demanding mroe revenue streams, therefore, if the PAC 12 can get a neutral site with garantees by promoters and TV rights, why not.
At the end of the day, all these decisions are NOT about sports or competition its all about maximizing revenues at all costs. So all we sports fans, who look through the lense of great games, great events and great competition, pleasee..... these conferences are not focused on that.

Makes sense for the PAC 12...the Bay Area has tons of alumni from all the PAC 12 schools
SFO and Oakland airports have lots of flights.
