this is a public forum in which different points of view/ideas/opinions are allowed and should be welcome. It's guys like myself, Quo, Redbird, etc. that offer the Non-Koolaid Sunshine/Lollypops views aka 'reality' that is badly needed in a place like this. You should thank us for offering a different view.

Ahh, the inability to handle reality... this could go so many ways...

speaking of reality...what is ECU looking like next year, for real. Give me your realistic win/loss for the year. I've always respected your football program.

I expect nothing less than 9 wins. Carden to Hardy will be EPIC. Our D is steadily improving. We will miss Cooper at RB but I think we got some young guns ready to step up in that position. One game that spooks me is the @ UNC game. Somehow, I think that EPIC beatdown from last year at their place will be in their heads....not sure which way that will go mentally for either team this year.

I think the match ups with UC and UCF will be the most interesting... UCF was our rival before realignment and we owned UC in CUSA play for football... it will be interesting to see how the time in between has changed everyone involved.

FWIW, I missed the UC fan hate HERE, cause when UC was in CUSA, we were all hashing it out on the ESPN conference forums. We were never really conference mates on this forum.

Sounds like your offense will be a machine. Hopefully the Cats will be up to the challenge....but we have some serious question marks right now sooooo.....

thx for the info

The sports nation preview is likely the most in depth and accurate assessment. It.highlights both our strengths and weaknesses and most fans consider it a pretty fair assessment.

Three things that will help you fit in:

Tulsa sucks at everything, has no fans, has no upside, is in a bad media market, will never compete, has no money, is small and is the worst addition to the American.

Same goes for Tulane except NOLA is a good destination.

UMASS is the next Boise State is a flagship program, a fierce rival for UCONN and the best addition out there.

Until Navy gets here, all but 2 of us (our universities) are CUSA guys so you'll know how cool or uncool all of us are.

It's a lot of the same smiling faces. :)

Will you be posting your car show pics when this summer's show season starts? They were something that I always looked forward to. They were always appreciated.

....and welcome.

All archived and I should have a new one uploaded soon.

Thank you sir!!!

Most of the folks here know PirateTreasureNC, but for those that don't; he attends car shows and posts pics of a lot of the cars in the shows. They are always great pics, and he's a great photographer. I never tire of his pics; they are entertaining.

RE: Tips on transitioning from CUSA board to AAC board?
It will be a difficult transition. My advice is to take it one day at a time. Don't rush to the board every time you get a coffee break. Maybe wait until the 3rd game of the season to be critical of other teams. Overall, I think that you can do it. It won't be easy. I'm sure that you'll still have some CUSA/G4 taint on you when you begin.

The 'woe is me' vibe only comes from a few posters - most folks on here are more optimistic about the future of the Conference.

Welcome aboard.

All new posters from CUSA should know that a lot of people on this board are very sensitive and don't know the difference between trolling and joking/busting balls.

UCF fans: Obnoxious, but much better and not nearly as sensitive since the Fiesta Bowl. More like that feeling right after sex where you say, "that was great. now what"?

USF fans: Quietly optimistic, much more subdued from last year; secretly waiting for UCF to fall so they can gloat.

UConn Fans: can't believe basketball is over

Houston fans: Don't sleep on them

Tulane fans:...crickets....

Temple fans: When does the NFL start up again?

Memphis Fans: Wait until next year.. we are going to be really great next year

SMU fans: Has June Jones been fired yet?

Tulsa fans: Are we in the AAC? when did that happen?

ECU fans: Ready to conquer the world, now!

Navy fans: There is no internet on the boat...

RE: Tips on transitioning from CUSA board to AAC board?
The best way to transition?....
- Alternate between talking about how some teams here should be in a P5 league to talking about how all the teams here are worthless or they would be in a P5 conference already
- Complain about all schools starting with the letter "T" and question why they got an invite
- State that if Cincy and UConn want out to a P5 conference, they should leave now and not let the door hit them in the *ss
- Pretend that UConn has never had any success at football and bash UConn football endlessly
- State that UMass football is a sleeping giant that would make a fine addition to the conference

But the most important thing to know?...
-remember that BE4evah is NOT A UCONN FAN and is a TROLL!!!

Haha. Anyway, most of the posters here aren't that negative... it just seems that the negative ones try harder to get their opinions out there. All in all, everyone is pretty nice and we all root for each other as we are the best non-P5 conference and we have a chip on our collective shoulder since we are all on the outside looking in. So, a win against a P5 for one is a win against a P5 for all in our book.

Welcome!!!! 04-cheers

The topics dujour are the same but the impacts discussed are slightly different.

You forgot perhaps the most important "bullet point":
-Always make the argument that it's not the "P5" but really the "P6," with the American being the 6th conference. And when everyone else says "P5" they are, in fact, the crazy ones and that the real wisdom rests purely in the minds on these hallowed pages.
