RE: Early Top 25
I just don't understand the perpetual preseason UNC fetish. My best guess is they get past the top 15, and suddenly it is much more difficult to pick teams, and then they realize nobody is there from the ACC Coastal yet.

Wow, is the ESPN hype machine pumping up UNC and... dare I say it?... Clemson?
(Obviously, they are also hyping the Florida Gators).

They have always had talent. They haven't had a decent head coach since Mack Brown.

If they didn't have to actually play the teams on their schedule, Carolina would probably stay in the top 20 all year. But they do. They are a perennial underachiever in the conference (only 4 winning conference records in the 16 years since Mack Brown left). This year, they play Clemson as their rotating non-divisional partner, plus Notre Dame. Eight wins will be a tall order this year, and even that might not get them ranked.

Agree 100%. Even when Butch was coach, he had great players but was not a good coach. Would never blitz, and ran a very unimaginative offense. Now they just need to build their defense under Fedora to a decent standard because they have plenty of playmakers on offense. Fedora has to not lose games they are supposed to win. I feel they are a year away from being really good.
