Michele Obama's brother just got the boot at OSU after climbing to be the 4th winningest coach in the programs history.

Will receive a $4M buyout.

Since Murphy isnt getting the job done and they don't draw flies maybe the Hurons could let Murph go get his dream NBA job and find someone who might be able to recruit and coach?

Why do you think that Murphy isn't getting the job done? He's increased the team's win total each of his three seasons. They won three MAC tournament games this year to reach the semifinals. I would take Murphy ten times out of ten over Robinson who has had 2 winnings seasons out of 8 as a head coach and whose only claim to fame is a famous sister.

How many top 100 or top 50 programs has Murph lead the Hurons over?
How many talented HS recruits are pounding down EMU's door to play? MAC DPOY graduates creating major PT and no takers! So just how good is he doing?

Robby recruits top talent considering the environs. Can't coach a lick like Rob but at least he can bring in talent. And on the MAC, with talent even a Kowalczck or Hawkins can get lucky.

Dear gobaseline,
You seem intent on creating controversy when there is none. I could ask the same questions of Hawkins at Western, and he has been around much longer than Murphy. I used to think you were knowledgeable about basketball, now I have to agree with EagleSam, you're just trolling.

To be accurate that would be drooling. But I digress.

Dearest Ken,
What is factually incorrect about what I have used as support for the question if C Rob would be a better fit at EMU?
-Murphy's affinty for and to EMU based on leaving for the NBA then coming back?
- Murphy can't get significant traction with HS stars to commit to EMU.
- Murphy supposedly had his best talent last year and came up with zilch when it was on the line.
- Which top 50 or 100 squads did Murphy's coached squad defeat?
- Michigan, Ohio and Indiana have loads of talent. Oregon has a load of weed. Though the conference talent levels were not comparable who was able to at least recruit "name" talent from around the country and who can't from a radius of 150 miles?
-Though modest, Robinson had a winning record at Brown where elite students are the core, not elite athletes. So who better to change the culture that draws 3-500 folk on a given home game date?

Dear Ken, we await your reply.

Dear gobaseline,
Anyone can make up their facts to fit their argument, which is exactly what you have done. The NBA thing was his first year, traction with High School Stars, Lee, Nobles, etc., best talent has to make shots in the clutch, Murphy can't be on the floor making shots, Wisconsin Green Bay comes to mind. Now give me the wonderful record of Hawkins and Western.
It should have been "I" await your reply.

Not many coaches want to leave after 1 year. Before exiting Robinson made a case for his retention but I see you couldn't answer them so you capitulated. I understand.

Still the argument can be made that C Rob has the goods on Rob M.

Don't short change yourself. There are plenty who wish to read about your thoughts.

Dear gobaseline,
You keep making up your own facts to suit your argument. You obviously need to get a life because you have really blown it with this thread. You were so wrong with this it is now just funny. End of story for me.

I think that the EMU Athletic Department would idiotic if they fired a coach after getting the Eagles back on the winning track after the program has experienced so many losing seasons. Any athletic department that punished coaches for making that kind of progress and went chasing shiny baubles could expect to have another several decades of failure.

I also think that if EMU decided to ditch a coach that looks like having the team on the rise, any other coach would have to be an idiot to take a job from that kind of scatter brained athletic department.
