Scientists race to develop farm animals to survive climate change
No really, I'm serious 03-lmfao

When a team of researchers from the University of Delaware traveled to Africa two years ago to search for exemplary chickens, they weren't looking for plump thighs or delicious eggs.

They were seeking out birds that could survive a hotter planet.

The researchers were in the vanguard of food scientists, backed by millions of dollars from the federal government, racing to develop new breeds of farm animals that can stand up to the hazards of global warming.

Fine, that's free market capitalism at work.

And you never know what positive, but unintended, consequences can come of the research.

Heat-resistant? How do you cook them?

You can cook anything if you emit enough carbon.

Ah, a line I took straight from you to use in your thread and you took it straight from me to use in my thread so we both used your line against each other for threads we felt were insufficient for accuracy on our ideologies but we both took the time to click on the threads we felt beared zero interest to one anothers interest in neither science, nor politics 04-cheers

That was one of the biggest things in the story... That, and breeding birds that can withstand something more than, what, 120 degrees, I guess? It would have to be 165 degrees for the chicken to cook anyways. which means we'll have to wait another 160,000 years or so before we have to worry about this, IF we don't go into another ice age... But do please spend millions more of our money building a bird that can withstand that.

Some climate-change activists dismiss the work...

So is it climate change or global warming? And I thought climate change meant it could get colder, or stay the same, or do anything else for that matter.

Because it doesn't get hot in the Mojave Desert or anywhere else in the country.
