RE: Annual All Sports Awards for C-USA???
Western fans never let the facts get in the way Vokmar. You'll learn soon enough. They conveniently leave out the fact that a disproportionate number of those conference titles come from men's and women's swimming and diving - two sports a lot of schools don't even sponsor.

Something like that could even throw a point system into turmoil. I suppose the fairest way to deal with that point-wise would be to award proportionally fewer points to champions in sports that few schools sponsor and proportionally more points to champions in sports in which every school competes.

I love the idea of a Commissioner's Cup - both objectively, and subjectively as a UTSA fan. We tend to perform very well in them.
I can see that WKU (a program I respect, by the way) seems a little salty about them. Haha

It already is that way because the football champion, for example, would get 14 points, while the champion of a 5-school sport would get 5 points. The method is self-correcting.

Suppose so, but with so many sports off the beaten path in relation to the rest of the conference, maybe you guys settled into the wrong neighborhood. lol
Yeah, we're in 5 different conferences. MAC for wrestling, Big East for Field Hockey, Big 12 for rowing, and MAISA for sailing, and Conference USA for the rest. Along with that we're independent for lacrosse.
Old Dominion is a member of C-USA in rowing (women's).
Here are the teams: Alabama, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Old Dominion, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Tennessee, Texas, Tulsa, West Virginia

2014 was the last year for CUSA rowing. It will be Big 12 next season since they have the most teams.

I think if one of these trophies is created, that a school should get points for having a team finish in the top 3 of the conference, but no lower.

I know I've pointed this out to ya'll more than once but only 12 of our 80+ championships during that period were Swimming and Diving. yall bring It up because you don't sponsor that sport. Understandable. Even without S/D we still won about 30 more championships than MTSU or any other SBC school. Now who has issues with facts?

Consolation prize? We're talking first place not second.
The Bubas cup in the SBC was nothing more than a consolation prize that MTSU fans would thump their chests about every summer. MTSU won it 9/13 years, in the same span WKU rolled up nearly double the number of conference championships. I honestly do not know where we keep all of our SBC championships. We won something like 80 of them in the past 14 seasons. Since the inception of the sunbelt WKU owns something like 9/10 of the most successful seasons (based on number of team championships won in a year). Yet I have no idea how many bobie cups we have won.
We are set to run away with it this year, but we lost in the semi's of the men's tourney, girls lost in the first round of the ncaa, football didn't go bowling, and baseball will likely not make a regional. Yet this cup is supposed to mean we have had a successful year? This has been a pathetic year.
If they won it, it isn't a consolation.

3IBL is one to talk about facts. WKU men do not, and have never competed in SBC S&D. Our women did dominate the SBC field. As YG said that was only 12 in 13 years. For many years wku did not compete in football and did not get any points for that. So take your cry baby antics back where you found them. Wku won the lion's share of conference championships while in the SBC, approximately 45 more than the Smut.

Please tell us more. So, those 82 championships in the chart don't include S&D?
Really, please tell us more. Maybe you guys could list all of them individually so we could marvel over all the S&D and cross country championships. #wkccdynasty

That would be an interesting alternative.
Devil's Advocate response though: What if School A won titles in 4 sports, but finished last in all others and School B won titles in 3 sports, finishing 2nd in every sport they didn't take a title in. Do you still think that School A deserves the all-season award just because they won one more title, regardless of how poorly they performed in everything else? I think School B would deserve it by virtue of finishing 1st three times and 2nd in everything else.
This pretty much describes the MT vs. wkcc saga. You could easily put wkcc as school A and MT as school B. Wkcc wins a bunch of titles in basketball and sports like goat olympics (again a sport we don't get into at MT) and then sucks at a bunch of other stuff but then has this hateful desire to undermine us for being competitive across the board. It's kind of sad. If there was ever a little brother complex they have it.
You would think that with all those championships - what all 82 of them - they would be content and wouldn't have the small pecker complex, but whatcha gonna do? That's western for you. Oh, and please keep in mind who started this. ToT as usual. I don't recall a mention of wkcc in this thread before he commenced his trolling. If there is even a scent that something might be complimentary of Middle Tennessee he immediately arrives to try to find a way to mimimize it and start sh1t. Just wait til he and Beed get here for good. Everyday. It will be like this everyday.

I was not trolling anyone. The thread wasn't even about you guys. All I said was that it was a ridiculously stupid format. It rewards schools for getting second place more than the next guy. The only people trolling are the Blue Failures with their stale goat comments, speaking of goats, can your football team sit down after the middies raped you guys in that bowl game?
I offered an alternative system and all you could do was moan about how awful western fans are.
Here is a mother alternative. Award points for each place but award double or 1.5 pts to champions. That way everyone gets their participation ribbon and winners are rewarded for winning.
Despite the fact that wku will run away with the boobie cup this season, it has been a sad year for the tops. And btw, both men and women swimmers competed in cusa, so there were no points for those two sports.

That is the truth. Nobody cared except you. And every summer, your kind would talk about it for weeks. How is the truth trolling? Dear god get off you soap box. You hate us and everything we stand for. We get it.
