I want to share a story that happened earlier today.

Being that it's a Friday and I had most of my work completed already, I was nonchalantly surfing twitter for news when I came across an RT chain asking for 50,000 retweets. Here is the tweet:

"GUYS PLEASE GET US TO 50K SO WE WONT FAIL HER CLASS!!! #Retweet #Please #Geometryistoohard"

As someone who uses Geometry in real life situations, such as home improvements and other things, this ticked me off. I did not RT. Instead, I replied with the following:

"I will not retweet to support laziness. Study. If you fail, you have no one to blame but yourselves. #Lifeisnoteasy"

Am I a bad guy for my response or for thinking this?

I agree with you 100%. Our culture has been trying to make people feel good about themselves to the point of accepting anything and justifying anything. I'm sick of it. We don't want anyone to feel shame. Well, there are some things in life that are shameful. We should not be trying to replace shame with acceptance (or even promotion) of shameful behavior and attitudes.

Thank you for standing up for those of us with an old school work ethic.

Ask the young twits on this board. They need to be doing several things at once. Some of them even tweet while self-stimulating. For some others, tweeting IS their self-stimulation!
